Apologies again for missing the race, I usually don't have shit going on during the weekends. Thank you to whoever hosted.
Obviously more problems this time around. I'm getting the replays to watch later today. From what I gathered so far, more patience needs to be exercised I guess. This series demands a very high level of track awareness and focus. It seems people may be too set on going 300% from start to finish to grab that glorious win. We all like to win and strive to edge out one another for top spot, it's racing, it's why we're all here. Too much aggressiveness, along with lack of patience and awareness is always going to result in unnecessary contact and accidents.
Anyways I'm going to look over the races and I'm going to think about some things. I still don't like the thought of doing roll offs or anything else. I think it just boils down to the fact that everyone needs to take a deep breath and take a little bit more time during the races to avoid situations of unnecessary contact. Only then can excellent racing be achieved with the current layout.
I'm seeing a few issues. Fast guys are rushing to move up because they may have gotten a spot in the back with Random grid. Slower to mid pack guys are trying to accommodate faster guys by getting off of the racing line. People who are gaining on someone are not observing where they brake later or navigate a section faster than the guy on front. All of this adds up to more incidents. Cautions - they make these issues worse. If we to run no caution I believe it would have a similar affect to sim damage.
If you're fast and you start in the back of the field. It sucks, especially in a short race but it is what it is. It's an opportunity to refine those passing skills, learn yet another driver's habits ( or several ), and to test some new lines through the circuit for later use.(late apex, early apex etc.)
If your slow and a fast guy is behind you, HOLD YOUR LINE. I know what you're trying to do but trust us. It ends up being counterproductive for both drivers. He's trying all that stuff I just mentioned. If you just pull aside it robs him of that.
Lastly, all of this is possible when track awareness is also practiced. If the entire race is a giggle fest it's tough to communicate. I love chatter as much as the rest if you. Shit, I've laughed hard enough to wake my wife on the other side of the house but the initial laps in a series race should be about what's going on.
To be clear, I love racing with all of you. This is just something that I hope can help us all race a little cleaner. Thanks.
I'm all about solving some of the issues so don't be annoyed if I keep throwing out ideas.
How about forgoing the two races per night and make it 1 longer race? There would be less panic to get to the front.
Some form of a qualifying time used to set starting position was dismissed as a bad idea earlier but it WILL solve some of these issues. Yes you may be less likely to run for 1st place, (ME INCLUDED) but it beats finishing dead last or even quitting out due to frustration.
I am 1 million percent against damage turned on. That first weekend I had 1 incident that was self inflicted that likely would have caused very little damage, and about 12 incidents NOT self inflicted that would have ended my race.
There are many ways to solve the problem but it will depend on the host on deciding what he wants to do. I do think damage will help. When I did the last weeks cilo pre-race, it wasn't to bad, even got so great racing in with shrimp. You can even ask him and he will tell you that race was one of the best racing he has ever had.
OK fellas, for those who still dare dabble in the SuperGT, tonight's races will be at Sebring and Mugello
I've decided for the hell of it to try a 1 second roll off just to see how it goes. Let's try to have some good racing and fun tonight. I'll be on for pre race practice.
If someone has the replay to race 1 I'd like to watch it.
Mugello is a track I'm going to work on. I noticed my lap time at the end of the race was actually quite good, especially with the handicap. But it's a place where I'm always making a mistake and last night was no exception. I gave up a bunch of spots because of dumb mistakes. That good lap was only after waiting for everyone to get ahead and running on an open track.
Had some bad luck (started off last in both races)...didnt practice at all this week and I could tell. Didnt get in a groove till about lap 10..Wife has a different work schedule and it kinda messed me up....Its gonna be hard to be at the house on Sat nights for a while....Summertime in Florida...So Snappy its gonna be up to you....
Race day fellas. I have a wedding to go to this afternoon but I'm making it a point to get back home for the race. I'm not going to miss another... Tonight we'll be at hockenheim and Laguna seca. We'll be sticking to the 1 sec roll off on a random grid. I've decided to up the total laps a bit because of the roll off. So we'll be running 18 laps at hockenheim and 19 at Laguna. See you guys later for some pre race laps.

my right hand is fucked so I'm not sure if I'm going to last an entire race. It hurts to shift up/down. I taped it up and downed a bunch of advil. The tape helped. Without it I wasn't going to be able to race at all.
If I mapped the clutch to the left L1 It wouldn't hurt but these aren't exactly cars to experiment with new settings.
If something should happen and race 1 is ruined for me I'm going to drop immediately and save my hand for race 2
Big daddy, there's a tune for the NSX in my storefront. Prebuilt, race 2 was good for me I had a great chase on jimee for most of the 19 laps. I'll get the results up later today.
Not sure what problems you are having as its viewable to everyone (no sign in required). I do have issues accessing the sheet with my cell phone but on the PC it should be fine.

what if you were to cut the room size down? fewer people trying to get through a turn at the same time.

so if I quit out it's not because I'm being pissy!
Hey. Great Racing with everybody tonight.
I need a tune for my car. #18 Honda NSX. Seems I was running the stock tune on the upgraded car.
I have not figured out how to tune yet, all my cars go slower after I tune them.
Thanks for all the help.
I'll help you out bigdaddy, but it'll be a few days.
So how did race 2 go guys???
Here is race 2 from Laguna
