My race was as messy as it could be.  Ran into so many people I lost count.  I did give back the positions after the mishap.

Sim40, sorry about the touch on Turn 1.  I misjudged the distance by about 10 ft and ran a little wide.

I ran into Parcell at the hairpin; he recovered alright but probably lost couple of seconds as well as bumper damage.

And I ran into my teammates too, aquiel2k & D Seeker34 . . .  D Fender54 got away unscathed.

I think playing Tiger Woods 14 last week messed up my racecraft.

Going to give this a miss for the rest of the series , can't be bothered spending time tuning and practising only to be continually bumped off , I always try to give room to other drivers and apologise if I have bumped them and give any places back!, but it seems that the name of the game is to force your way past regardless........................cant be arsed to go into detail , but some drivers need to look at their track manners !

I was one of the offending drivers.  Before you pulled off the track to exit the race I watched the the skirmish between you and D Seeker34.  You guys were racing hard side-by-side and neither wanted to give.  Could not tell who was bumping who.  All I saw was 2 drivers racing their guts out.

I regret that my braking went in a little deep.  For D Seeker34, I don't think he was tryng to gain advantage by bumping.  You guys were just racing hard.

Hey............it matters not, guess he didn't want to give way and for once I wasn't going to!

If you can't pass clean, you shouldn't pass. Not just out of etiquette but often you end up getting the worst of it. I'm not necessarily speaking of this race but just my experience of  driving aggressively in general.

Every race sim something happens to you. Not just in the clis but almost everything! Feel for you chap. Maybe you give too much room and the other driver thinks he's past? When I have someone next to me I make sure they know I'm there :)

Someting like: On your right zeratul, got ya, BUMP-slide-wall!? At the shakedown for Road Atlanta. PS not hitting the pitwall gave me a second place finish! So 5% next week.

Edit: Very nice paint Grim/Gunny!

So I haven't done this yet but I am not oppose to moving someone. In other words a light bump to send the person wider in the corner to get under them. But I would expect the same in return. Is that ok ?

Only because I posted above I'm responding with my thoughts. But I rarely win so what do I know. devil

I try and imagine this is real. What would Jimmie Johnson say if Matt Kenneth said he was going to start moving JJ out of corners with bumping? Not as a miscalculation but as a strategy.

Let's say you give a little bump and the guy ends up in the grass or losing control into a wall? We all bump and get bumped but to bump as a strategy in my opinion is not a good idea.

But I'd be interested in what some of the others say, maybe I'm too restrained.

. Not as a strategy but if u r running quicker times and the person in front of u is holding u up I am nit opposed to alittle rub to move them so I can pass. And I got this from martinsville and bristol. JJ wouldn't do this but both bush brothers woyld along witj harvick and some of the other greats. #3 was famous for this.

@Chief – IMO that is wrong. Sort of understandable if you’re clearly faster than the guy ahead but still wrong.

Rubbing is racing – you’ll never hear a formula one racer say these words cause it’ll end up in their death so you need to decide if you’re gonna base your racing off NASCAR style (where rubbing is indeed racing also less stringent in BTCC races) or open wheel racing.

If you believe a little rubbing is OK you’ve gone too far if you’ve sent the guy off the track and/or into a wall but if its just a “little” rub I guess that’s OK if that’s the way you wish to race but its not the way everyone races.

It shouldn’t be news to anyone that in road racing (with real cars and real lives at stake) you can be a full second faster then the other guy but still can’t pass him cleanly on the track and you cannot afford to give him a small bump because it will damage your car/aero. If a guy knows how to defend his line well you simply can’t get by him even if you are significantly faster.

When you bump someone (real small bump which anyone can do it takes next to no skill) you make their back end lose traction which means they need to get off the gas immediately (to avoid car spinning out) and essentially start their accelerating out of the corner process all over again so you’ve essentially taken their “slow in fast out approach” and thrown it out the window all because you believe rubbing is racing and/or you’re just too stubborn to stay behind someone multiple laps to set them up for a clean pass.

The good news is that even though many of us take our SIM racing a bit too serious most of us understand it is a game so a little rub here and there isn’t going to send anyone off the deep end.

Bad example lol. Those NASCAR hillbillies move each other with their bumper on every lap.

What? CPro bumped me on the staight...!99

No, seriously. I think there is always some contact during the races. But bumping someone off the track is not a good idea. As this one is on full sim, you ruin not only your race but also the race of the other one due to the damage.

Most of the bumping I have seen during races here was not intentionally but just driving errors or too much optimism.

I usually get "bumped" off the track from behind within the first five laps and lose all aero. End and logging laps...I don't like it at all but Its a game. I keep coming back cause i try to have fun.

Well last week you were doing awesome and I was racing hard with you...

Then this happened! Damn gravity!

EDIT: Oh and for my 2 penneth, unless your names starts with "J" and end in "ason Plato", no way acceptable to intentionally hit someone, no matter how light, to affect their line. If your car is behind their car, they have the right to their line. I don't know about anyone else but if someone is all over my bumper, its only a matter of time before I make a mistake and their past.

Thank you all for answering. I didn't know how aggressive I was allowed to get but I do now. Very cool. The only reason I compared to nascar is because we have fenders and someone else compared to it also. I usually end up racing grim by the end. Weather it be up front or in the back. Lol

My opinion (Yes I know Jason CProRacing Plato)

I change my style depending on a few factors:

Who do I have in front of me?

If its a newer guy I will go steady sit on the rear and wait. If its a regular I will be about 30% more aggressive if that is the word. If its Fitzy I will go Full Auto.

What Skill level are they?

Again if I know the drivers skill I very my driving. Lower skill I will be try to dummy them in to a position where they are off-line and switch back to the fastest line. If your a Vet guy I will be all over you like a fat kid on a smartie.

How have they been to me during the race?

If you have overtaken me without contact or have hit me gone past BUT said sorry I will be cool. If you have been smashing my back doors like like I would to Holly Willoughby you to will be making good friends with my front bumper.

What place am I and how many laps are left?

I always try and go steady at the start of the race. You cannot win a race on Turn one but you can lose a race there. If i'm second and your first and we have 7 laps left I will take my time and wait and see what part of the track i'm faster on and plan an over take there.

The same goes if i'm 3rd your second and there are loads of laps left I will wait especially if 1st it a few thousand foot in front.

Maybe the reason why I normally come out ok after a 50/50 contact is i'm always ready to counter a spin while I'm racing someone. Every car I race I spend at least a lap of pushing the car over its limits to see how it handles and how to recover the car as fast as I can. That way if a car hits me I know what to do and hopefully not spin.

That is also the reason why I normally can get away with going wide on a turn or spining out as I normally know how t get the nose pointed in the right place and to get going again.

The answer to the questions asked however is I will never push someone wide intentionally. I will however act upon a hit from another driver but not to an extent of them hitting a wall etc. It just becomes a Love Tap situation.
