The Green Hell and Back (charity event)

Due to its length I think it would only be fitting to follow suit and do one of the real life endurance tracks......my suggestions would be Le Mans , seabring  or spa as for mods knight runs a protype/gt mod with the gbr guys but iam not sure the name or maker....sure he can inform you 

did u post this here or on another forum cause iam sure I've heard of this fundraiser before?  How were u able to link sim racing to raise money for fundraising? Cause ill start fundraiser s every week if that the case :) maybe not 24hrs I think 12 is enough lol

Enduracers.  Awesome mod, we run it everyother Sunday (Porsche Supercup is the alternate Sunday series).  All the ALMS/LMS classes from a couple years back (05-09); GT2, GT1, LMPC, LMP2, & LMP1.  Any of the VLn tracks are very  nice.

I'm assuming you're probably going to be running w/ AI?  Let me when you were thinking of running, I might be able to drum up interest with the GBR guys for more drivers, and maybe get a couple more human cars if you're interested.  I've been wanting to try something crazy like a 24 hour race sometime in my life. 

I need to figure out the driver swap thing one of these days.

And definitely let us know if you do opt for the server and want another human car or 2.  I know a couple guys I could likely pair up with for one team, and there may be enough interest at GBR for a second car.

We are fixing to run a 2.4 hour race w/ driver changes this Sunday.  I'll have a better idea of what to do for driver swaps by the end of the race.  I'll let you know if there are any server settings that need to be set to allow for driver swaps.

I also just put up a post at GBR to see if I can find an interested body or 2 to pair up with.

I'll try to find & connect to the server this week if it's still up.

Tried to join the server to run some test laps but no dice.  Nothing found using that IP.

How exactly did you set up the server? Are u just using the dedicated server within your rfactor folder?  Installing the mod in ds folder is the same as installing a regular mod in game.  Launch the dedicated server exe. A box will pop up asking for a server name and admin password click next than it should show available mods drag from the left and put it in the right colum and select the cars you want, next page will be tracks best to put just one in at a time next will be your race options and assists set it up to your liking at the bottom you can type a welcome message for when you enter the server and your done....oh ya on the first page where it asks for the server password make sure the above box is set to dedicated server.  Any add on mods like graphic or sound enhancers reel feel must be added as well and the users must have them as well or it will cause a mismatch.

the second page at the bottom has server options depending on your Internet set the upload and download to about 250mb less than your allowable rate....I have 50 down and 5 up and I have it set to both max with a max of 20 racers allowed....hopefully my ramble made sense if you have any issues MSG me or krgdark he knows them a bit better than I do :) 

Also if the computer your running the dedicated server on goes to sleep mode or your screens it will close the server sometimes but will still show it running ? I've noticed this on mine from time to time....screen saver mode doesn't effect it that iam aware of.  I run mine on the same as my gaming one its best to do it on a separate one especially for a long event....I've had issues at the end of a race when I alt tab to reset the server for race two my game freezes and I have to restart rfactor to get back into the game 

It should have shown up immediately using the provided IP address. What is the name of the server (game)? ie 24 Charity Race, etc.

I did refresh several times and there were only two VLN Saison's listed under mod type and the game names didn't seem to be anything around a charity race.

Oh and on the topic of cars, you said no chance of running the top cars.  Just curious what car classes you were going to allow.  Sherb and I have both run SP7 cars in a previous event and were comfortable with them but of course we'll run whatever class gets the green light.

*Edit: So I was able to join a SimworldGT.com - 1 VLN Server.  Is this the correct server.

After several refreshes I only saw 3 in total.  The GBR one I set up, the SimworldGT.com - 1, and another one I couldn't connect to.
