NORTH AMERICAN IN GAME CLUB REBOOT
Looking to revise our in game club. This applies to active American members only. Possibly utilizing the current 2O4F tag in which I believe snappy is the leader. I'm just getting a little topic going here so we can hash out the details to get this reboot started. Cotter, you're the man... What's your thoughts?
This has been tossed around in the past, but we've made do to a point by just deleting people who haven't been seen when needed. It's definitely time to try to bring the divisions back into one. I am in charge of the FOF gamertags & they are in need of cleaning as well.Here is what I'd been considering...
1- We completely dissolve all of the current American clubs.
2- I create a sticky thread here with a link to a spreadsheet where members can "sign up" for the new club. This will hopefully give us a general idea of exactly how many we have active now. I will place a field on the spreadsheet where members can mark themselves as active. This field will be cleared on a monthly basis at the 1st of each month. If a member hasn't checked in by the 7th they will be marked as inactive & removed from fof tags & club if needed until they return & post themselves as active again.
3- I will create the new club & am open to volunteers or nominations for any designated co-leaders. & add people as they sign up on the spreadsheet.
The one problem with this is that we have a lot of folks who don't come to the forums here. So we will all have to work hard spreading the word in-game about what's happening. If folks don't want to hang out in our forum that's fine, but I don't think that it's too much to ask of them to at least pop in once a month in order to help the group run more smoothly.
On a side note. I'll have to look into things, but I think there may be a way to embed the spreadsheet here. That would be nice.
Another reason we need to start working on this is to get ready for FM5 too.

It would be a good chance to get rid of those unwanted foreigners, anyway Parcells you are in the Euro club. Maybe we should kick those foreigners out of the Euro club. Nearly worked with Parcells but he snuck back in.

Glad this is happening. The 2O4F club needs cleaning up and I have been thinking of relinquishing the lead spot. Let me know what you all need me to do.
I'll help with Co-Leader if you need the help.
I may shift over to the US club. I think I have a decent amount of the Euro's on my F/L so should be all good.
I think the only other thing really needed is a reliable source for passing cars between clubs for series n such so everyone has something they can go to in a pinch, or on purpose. I know I put three or so AIX cars in the eURO cLUB LAST NIGHT AND WE HAD A GOOD TIME WITH THEM. dAMN caps lock!!!
Sounds good to me, I miss logging in and finding people to race with. I have to get my FL back up to date after being off a few months during my move.
No way would I ever leave the Euro club under my own will, thats just crazy talk!

his isx the only way I can see o properly keep rac of the club ingame. I don't feel hat's it's asking too much for people to pop in here once a month & put their names on a spreadsheet during a one week window. It's no diffferent than signing up for a race. Besides, Maybe we wont need to deal with this again in FM5. Hopefully we'll have a club member count as high as our friends list count will be.
Not to mention, I'm not saying that you'll be kicked for not signing in, but I need an accurate count & members lis in oder to mae this happen. It's not like I'm requiring people to get on here & post.

I get that you need a feel for a running total. I don't see a different solution, but I see the current suggestion as a bit bumpy. I guess the friends lists can maybe absorb some of the slack if someone does get bumped, accidental or otherwise.
That's my point. If someone can't at least pop on & sign in once a month, then they probably aren't participating much anyway. It's not like I'll be booting people from the group, They will only be removed from the club ingame if the need arises in order to mae room for active members who do take the time to sign in/participate. For those who simply don' have the capabiulity to sign in once a month can communicate wih club leaders & they can make sure those people aren' overlooked.
I'm also sort of tired of the people who always want to paricipate, but never come here to see what's happening. It slows down race nights because we spend time getting those folks into a proper tune/car whatever. If you can't pop in here once a month, then maybe we don't need you. Not trying to offend folks, but I'm really tired of holding peoples hands when they've been here long enough o know how things work here.

I would prefer that this be the scenario for all club divisions. Euro division will sill remain seperate from U.S., Bu I'd sill like to be able to keep track of ho all is active there too. This has sa dual purpose because i will probably use this sign-up system to merge all clubs again in FM5 (I'm betting the club member limit ill be higher so maybe we can all get into one club again.).
BTW. Another reason everyone will need to participate in this project. I am also considering combining this with your number selection for club races where they are required.
when a member signs in for he monh, that will also "renew" his claim to his selected number. Our current numbers list is just crazy.
