Xbox "Game Ahead" Program
This sort of piggy backs on top of Gamestop's "$50 credit for games towards X1 version"

The reason I like it is that it's a digital option. Plus now that the X1 isn't launching until 11/23, that's a full month after BF4 launches. I think they may be doing the same thing as CoD. So basically, you buy the x360 version for $70 and you get the X1 version digital when it launches. Not a bad deal. Cheaper than renting the x360 version for a month.
I need to look into this.
I'm of two minds about it. I like the ability to go digital or not and the ability to trade up, but I don't want to pay extra for a game if I don't have to. I'm glad I don't really care about any of the titles that straddle the generational gap.
Also, I find it weird that this generation is the first to do this kind of thing. I suppose with more digital distribution, this could establish more of a norm for the next generational gap.
I don't see it as weird that it's starting now. Think of where we were in 2005.
All I know is that just because there's a digital option, doesn't mean we have to totally do away with the physical. Personally, I would wait for the next gen release instead of spending the extra $10 bucks. But for me, money's an issue. I would have waited to buy GTA 5 for the PS4 but Rockstar has yet to announce a PC or Next Gen release date so I grabbed it on the older console.
Azure, no one ever said that in this thread. You seem to bring this up in every thread. We understand, you like discs. This is just giving both option.
Indeed. My apologies.
So far, this looks like the best option for me.
With COD:Ghost, instead of buying a physical disc for the 360 and then turning it in with $10 and getting the One disc; I can pay the extra $10 and have a digital copy for both the 360 and the One. Having both copies will allow me to play with my cod friends regardless of which xbox version they have while allowing my stats to progress as I play.
I just hope BF4 follows suit.
Excellent explanation of your position!
Please note, it's very possible (and I think noted) that your profile only transfers one way, to the One. So your 360 copy might not be useful for online play after that. But don't quote me.
nice. looks like it's only BF4 that is the "one time:
