WeeklySaturdaySuperFunNightPorscheVSFerrari 10/5/2013 [FINISHED]
Next Saturdays super fun night will obviously consist of a Porsche vs Ferrari event. Make cars for A, S, R3, and an R2. These 2 iconic companies will be going head to head on some of the worlds most iconic and grueling tracks. Do you have what it takes to drive these cars at break neck speeds without crashing into walls or others? This will be a team based event. Say we have 8 people in the room. 4 will be on a team driving Porsche and the other 4 on a team with Ferrari. The R2 race will be the only free-for-all race (as of now). Who will you represent?
Reserved
Porsche
Ferrari
Ferrari (with a name like Ciletti, I have no choice... )
If I can remember to make it, it will be in a Porsche...
I only have 3 qualifying cars in R2...the #96 Porsche, F50-GT, and the F40 Competizione. I feel sure that we could upgrade a few of the Ferraris up to R2, but we will likely have a difficult time with the inferior German manufacturer that some of you guys have unwisely chosen to represent. Perhaps the Carrera GT or the 959 (good luck with that one) could make it into R2, but if we don't open it up a bit to include RUF, the Porsche guys will have very few options once we get up to R2.
I will allow RUFs in this since they are just beefed up Porsche 911s.
I tuned up an R3 Carrera GT last night after I got tired of waiting for GTA Online to get its shit together...it's an AWD swap with forced induction at full 875 pi and she's kind of a bitch. I kicked the toes out, played with the suspension and diff (running a 70/30 torque split) and she's still a little pushy, but manageable enough to run a clean stretch at Fujimi D Reverse, but she was a full 3 seconds slower than my PB with the Furai. Might be a good choice for Le Mans, Sunset, or Road America if they pop up.
In reference to the Carrera GT vs Furai......well, try a tuned out car vs a car thats built to be driven really really fast and handle really really well in the process. Big difference between production vs a car thats purpose built for that scenario. Don't try too hard Jones, your not driving Porsche, remember?
Nah, I wasn't expecting to beat the Furai...I wanted to get a clean p2p segment, which I accomplished, but since the Furai is my ghost it was naturally my only reference point. What I'm saying is that although the car would be ideally suited for a long track, it still handles well enough to race Fujimi cleanly.
RACE NIGHT!!!!!
Heres a video I made via my camcorder recording the replay of Jones and I racing the F50 GT and the R2 Porsche. http://youtu.be/icatDM6goXQ
Last nights event was rather interesting. Took me a min to figure out the options but once I got them I was having a blast. Ferrari ended up being the overall King on the event. 3 team based rounds and 1 free-for-all round for the night. I would have run more if more people would have stayed. Some good racing last night and lots of scraping paint. I had fun, did you?

FERRARI IS THE KING
It was superfun!
I had fun, go Ferrari!!!!
Porsche never had a chance...maybe we should have another Saturday Night Rivalry. Ferrari vs Lamborghini perhaps...
I like it Jones. Lambo vs Ferrari (current king of manufactures). Maybe we can continue this on to see who the #1 manufacture. Oh and the prerequisite to using Lambo is to spell its full name in a lobby without looking at a reference while racing. Haha!
Are we on for Saturday night? I have a feeling that Ferrari may find Lamborghini a tougher challenge than that mediocre Stuttgart Beetle factory. I'm running some very close times with both brands of Pasta Rockets, especially utilizing AWD Lambos in A and S class, the moving to RWD swaps in the higher classes, or purpose built race models (you know the one I mean). I would still represent Ferrari, should any racers find the nerve to challenge the mighty red machines on the track.
Sorry I didn't get back to you about Lambo Vs Ferrari Jones. I was at work and busy working on my house preparing for a visit from my family and lost track of time. How did things go? Did you host it?
Nah, we'll have it next Saturday. I had some company over and we played some Army of Two. I guess we (meaning you) should start a new thread with folks pledging their allegiance to their favorite Italian so we can hold em to it come Saturday.
