Thanks everybody! I feel better knowing that people I know (kinda) have one eye worse than the other and/or a sudden change. I know I should listen to the "don't worry" part of what she said, but my brain fixated on the "your left eye is totally fucked up" part. Okay that's not exactly how she worded it lol. At least I don't need new glasses right now. She said if I'm seeing okay, I can hold off on new glasses until I notice a problem.
@ Jones hubby and I spent most of the day yesterday joking about me getting an eye patch and somehow using it to make me look tough lol
*random* So I used to really have trouble falling asleep at night. Hubby has to get up at 5 am, so when he goes to bed, I do too, even if I'm wide awake. Which leads to me torturously trying to fall asleep. Since we got the Roku 3 (which has earbuds that plug into the remote), I've been watching stuff til I get sleepy. Low and behold, my sleepless nights are over! I fall asleep as soon as I turn the tv off and I sleep (pretty much) through the night. I used to watch videos on my iPod, but it wasn't comfortable because I has to hold the damn thing. So it didn't have the same effect. Woohoo! I can sleep at night!
ZK - how are you liking the Roku 3. Just ordered one and will be putting it in the bedroom as well. Hoping to evetnually dump the cable box in place of it for that room. (that is teh stretch goal) My better half is in no way a techie so hoping she takes to this easily and likes it.

Lovng the Roku! Like everyone said, it's very easy to use. Hubby isn't a techie, and actually thought it was a useless bit of electronics. Then I found him watching some show about guns and he decided it wasn't so stupid after all lol. It's WAY better than my Xbox for Netflix that's for sure!
Roku's are quite easy to operate. Worst thing that can happen is a router reboot and having to re enter a wireless password, which in it self is quite easy as it's already there again, you just hit enter.

Roku's so simple to operate even old people can use them (insert picture of Oldschool)
To those that have "cut the cord" for TV and use your game console, PC, Roku, etc... What is your plan for when your internet provider caps your monthly bandwidth and then starts charging you for going over the cap?. What happens when they raise the price of internet only to recoupe the lost revenue on the TV side? i'm cutting the cord soon to save some money until they catch up with me on the internet service side.

At&t has me at 125 gb a month... I have yet to even come close.

I hit 96 GB in June
Damn. Yeah even with 3 phones, 2 ipads, my pc, ps3 and xbox we've never come close, but I also don't stream anything as we use U-Verse. Does streaming from Netflix, Hulu, Crackle etc. go against the data usage, even tho it's not being "downloaded"?
We gave up satellite and went back to antenna. Get a dozen stations in HD. Two have movies all the time. Have basic Netflix and I pay my Gold LIVE subscription. No smart phone, yet. Will use Smartglass and waiting to see if any subscriptions are going to bundle with the xb1 after it launches. I am too cheap to double up services and I avoid bundling.
I'll deal with that if and when I have to. Right now my bills easily $75 or more a month cheaper (additional cost of Netflix included).
There's only one show I currently watch that's of the "current" season. Watch that on Xbox Video, and yes, I pony'd up the cash for the season. It was half the cost of one month of cable TV. Other than that I'm on Netflix Crackle and the like.

That's the boat i'm in. I Rarely watch any current seasons and can catch up on them for less than a month of cable. Some shows I watch I can catch up on the current season right on the broadcasters own website for free. I use Playon to get it from PC to media player at the TV.. I purchased Amazon prime to take advantage of free 2 day shipping since I buy so much from them. So I also have that for a lot of free content.
I'm not cutting the cord. I'm still pretty reliant on cable...just got a Roku for the boudoir because there's not much on cable I wanna watch when I'm sick, or late at night.
There's so many series I missed when they WERE current, now on Netflix, I'll be happy for quite some time. And I'm just not able to watch anything on a consistent schedule that was current, and there were really maybe 4 or 5 a week that I watched anyway IF I happened to catch them when they were on.
I'd probably use the hell out of a DDR but I'm not paying for that every month either. Can someone tell me why a TIVO has a monthly charge?
Phone rings. It's hubby's office line. I answer, and he says "hey. Whatru wearin?" I reply honestly "my red Victoria's Secret nighty I went to bed in..." I hear his buddies say stuff like "oh yeah!" and "my wife wears those ugly flannel nightgowns.." Hubby says "oh yeah you're on speaker. Just testing the new phone system. Gotta go...bye."

I'm repeating this post just cuz I think this post bears repeating.
Cool fact for vertical astigmatism (any type really). If you lose your glasses, a temporary sight aid is a finely spaced comb. Just hold it close in front of your eyes. If only you could find a comb without your glasses. Lol.
Just less crowded...

Two teenagers, although one off to school, the wife and I on the bandwidth,
4 puters, three laptops, 4 I-phones, two Xboxes, ROKU. If they even hint at caps I'm really gonna lose it I think.

HIO!
Yeah streaming is still downloading, your just not saving the Data.
Yea if I streamed I'd be way over.
Good morning.
I had to buy a router to put everything online.
I have bad luck with routers. I can buy a super expensive one and its just as bad as the cheapest, once it's in my house.
Morning everybody!
