I'd like to see Dyson Racing campaign these next year. Don't know where they are going to go now that P1 is dead.
Just did a little digging. They have ruled out DP & PC (good on them ), and are looking at P2 & GT options. Though as of now are undecided, and have a reasonable likelyhood of not making the Daytona race in February.
Porsche pulled out of ALMS support after the 08 season. The series didn't "fold" until this past weekend. Though it will be continuing in a way w/ the merger of the Rolex Sports Car Series.
So Dyson ran even after Porsche officially pulled support? They continued to do quite well didn't they? As you can tell, I'm not up on all the racing news, I can barely keep staright who races what in which series, if at all sometimes. Tends to make my paints a tad inaccurate at times.
Yeah, they've been with Mazda since '09. They've had thier shining moments here and there since then, but the P1 field has been very small the past couple years. This year there was only 3 cars. Muscle Milk, Dyson & the DeltaWing. I guess you can say they've been successful with what they have to work with, as thier budget I doubt is remotely close to the Muscle Milk operation. What I really like about Dyson Racing is it's still a small family run operation based out of upstate NY. They call Lime Rock thier home track.
They were 2nd in class (P1) this year at Petit, beating out the Muscle Milk car after they suffered engine woes halfway through the race. Dyson did have to retire w/ 5 to go though, as they had some engine wiring that melted as a result of getting rear-ended earlier in the race. They were running 5th overall and closing on the P2 cars in front of them when it started tweaking out.

Not bad for a V-6. Just beat the lap record at Talladegga set by Mark Donahue in 1975, when he pounded around at 221 mph in a 1,200 hp Porsche 917-30.

Dyson was running Porsche before they lost factory sponsorship, or was it the series folded, I forget?
