So? How does it feel?
I've been tempted to run over to the local gamestop the last couple days to see if I could pick one up. You can use it with the ps3 if it's wired. The 'home' button doesn't work and the touchpad isn't used but I wanted to get a feel for it.
The thing I liked least about the PS3 is the controller. Compared to the 360 it just felt like a kids controller to me. This one is kinda between the two. I think it will be more comfortable than the DS3 but still feel it will fall short of the 360.Only a extended seesion of gameplay will tell the tale.
The sticks seem to be the biggest improvement. They are much stiffer and more like the 360 sticks.I always had the "accidental" drop to the ground when playing BF3 while using the DS3. I don't see that being a problem with the DS4. The "handles" are longer and "fatter" so that will help greatly. Overall it feels much more like an adult controller.
I haven't tried it yet as the USB is the smaller style than the one used on the DS3.It doesn't come with a USB cable. My only cable with that type end is very short but I may give it a shot.
I'm holding out for the blue color when that drops later this year.

DualShock 4 will be available in Magma Red and Wave Blue "concurrently with the launch of PS4 in Europe."
The color variations are listed as €59 (£54) for Europe and $59 in North America. Both colors will launch in North and Latin America "later this year."
Picked one up as well. Really like the feel think it's going to be very comfortable while playing.
Played a few games of COD with it. Pretty nice stinks that you have to have it wired and you can't use the home button but the feel is awesome.
I'm not sure what I expected but the touchpad buttons are more like a mouse.Touchpad I thought were like my smartphone. This actually detents when you push it like the mouse buttons(does that make sense?)
Makes sense guessing it acts as a button and a touch pad somehow?
Yeah, it's a clickable trackpad.
Guy at gamestop said the blue and red would release early next year in the US. Hope he is wrong....or I may have to import! Anybody know a website that imports from the UK?
Got one today. I really, really like the way it feels. It's a huge improvement from the DS3s.
Edit. Just sitting on the couch in the dark the light from the controller doesn't reflect off my 55 inch Samsung. Also, I do not see the light at all thanks to the curvature of the controller. However, my two fingers are somewhat lit up. The people who were freaking out about the light did so for no reason.
I used it to play BF4 tonight.Big difference. No more accidental knife slashes with the right stick. Comfortable to hang onto . Couldn't use the select button or PS button when hooked via USB to my PS3 but really other than that worked well with the PS3 console.
Couldn't agree more Blimey. Used it off and on for a week now and have no issue at all.
Picked up a DS4 tonight and I have to say it's leaps and bounds better than the DS3. So comfortable.
GS called and gave me my extra DS4 and Playstation Camera (suppose to give you better precison with the controller); all I can say is wow, Sony finally listened to us the consumer. The Dual Shock 4 controller feels great in my hands, love the redesign of the triggers and I can't wait to actually play BS4 and Killzone: ShadowFall, but I was shocked with the touchpad, I honestly thought if was going to be similiar to my cell phone (GS4) but I agree it feels more like a mouse input in nature, and yet your suppose to be able to glide your finger over it to perform certain things in games, like accessing your OWL in Killzone:ShadowFall for instance.
I can't wait to get my spare controller for the XBOX 1 as well, really curious to see all the improvements made first hand, just wish M$ had taken a cue from Sony and use the same type of lithium ion batter inside, oh well, that's what battery packs are for!!
