[FM4] Thursday Night Smallbore Race Series 9pm EST 11/14 Silverstone International [Finished]
[FM4] Thursday Night Smallbore Race Series 9pm EST 11/14 Silverstone International [Finished]
The AIX replacement is going to the Forza Smallbore Shootout. This is going to be a MUCH shorter series (and ALL of my series events will start following this model) THREE weeks only for this series. Cars will be built to B500. The only build restrictions for this series is NO engine swaps and Forza Aero is a requirement.
Tracks include:
- Laguna Seca
- Hockenheim National
- Silverstone International
Eligible Cars Include:
Ford Escort RS1800
Datsun 510
MGB GT
Alfa Sprint GTA
BMW 2002
Rules:
Don't be a dick
Cautions on the first three laps only.
Restarts are ON one. 3,2,1. Passing is allowed immediately following a restart.
One required Pitstop after the midpoint of each race. (The least disruptive way to enter the pits for the driver and least disruptive way to exit the pits for those on track will be used) This usually means exit pits ASAP but don't cut across track.
Handicaps will reach a maximum of 15%. 5% for finishes in the top 4......the bottom 4 will LOSE 5%
Things I would like to see but aren't "rules".
A vintage inspired race livery. Doesn't have to be a replica. Vintage liveries were often very simple.
Because this is an open build type series if anyone is concerned about their build/tune I will provide one to them. I use these cars all the time in public lobbies and can provide a good build/tune for all of them. In fact I 'think' I have a tune for most of those on my Storefront now.
Im in too. Might be the RS1800 for me but i might consider the Alfa
Im also in for this one.
Prebuilt, if you need a standing sheet or even a signin sheet set up, let me know

I think this week will have to be shakedown races. If I even make it for that.
Stewie, drivebye, can I get tunes please? Wanna try them tonight if I can. Will most likely be out of town this weekend, but will try to make tomorrow night.
Got my jeans last night. Points if you figure this out...
OMG I get it :(
Doubtful...
I do believe he meant genes. What for who knows.
Levi's for skinny people
Sigh...Drivebye might figure it out, Cooter an outside bet at best...., you guys are floundering in the closet...Maybe Shrimp, maybe...
Guys I'm going to have to delay doing anything on Thursday nights until the end of October. Until football is over I just can't get much playing time
One more Thursday then I'm back to racing.
I'm going to start a new thread and we will include these B-class cars but might switch things up a bit. The "series of series events" will likely be two week long stints in various cars. When I do update this it will be with build info on cars at least a few weeks out. AFTER these B-class cars I'm going to switch things over to single car/build races.
I'm in .
OK lets get this started!
This coming Thursday October 31, at 9:00 PM.
Laguna Seca.
No handicaps for race 1. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL RULES (that had handicaps set before each race)
Approximately 30-40 minute race. I'll run some laps to figure out the timing.
Several cars are in the club garage. Some of them are kind of loose. ALL of those cars in the club garage are tuned for Silverstone International.
I have two different paints for the Ford RS1800. A wide body Europa Mobel, and a Rothmans livery.
I have the one Datsun 510 Livery but the colors can be switched up.
I also have the Art car livery and a Jagermeister livery for the BMW 2002.
If anyone wants one of these let me know and I can gift them over. Try to run a Vintage inspired race livery please. It's not a rule but I would really like to see the old school look on track.
Also watch for updates in the next couple of days for info on the races following the 3 weeks of smallbore racing.
When this finishes we will be running 3 more weeks, 3 different tracks, ONE car with a specific build. I'll continue this 3 week format until people complain or stop playing.
Looking forward to this. Anyone else?
I updated the look, tune and build on the MG in the club garage. Take it for a spin and let me know what you think.
I just might run it since it sounds like it's not getting any attention.
After these 3 weeks I'm thinking of following up with the 3 week long Vette Challenge, using a different generation of Corvette each week.
B500 53' Corvette
A600 71 Corvette
S700 C6 Corvette Z06
Then the next 3 weeks will be 3 weeks of a no Aero A-class BMW M5, or low S-class 2011 VW Scirroco (FWD) OR......I'm not sure yet.
I'm going to try to free up time for this... I've got an MG ready, with 'old school' livery...
Race night fellas'!!
The MG is tuned for Laguna and I'll upload the tune for the Laguna for the Alfa and the BMW and sync those with the cars in the club garage.
I won't be on early because of Halloween with the kids but I should be able to make the race.
So get your practice in ahead of time.
not going to make the race. momma says i cant sit on my ass that long or she is going to be on my ass
i had surgery on my butt wed. good news was no cancer found
back when i heal a little more
Had fun last night! Stewie may not be talking to me anymore but, I had fun last night!
That was you? Hahaha --- NP
Yea I'm glad you cracked Driveby, don't think I could of kept that pace all race long I was almost to the point where I was just about to give up on trying to run that hard to keep in front of you. It's so stressful trying that hard to run perfect I would rather give up the lead and be able to enjoy the race a bit then run that hard for that long.
Congrats to Brnt on the win. He and drivebye left me in the dust.
I know for sure Brnt, Drivebye, and myself have a 5% handicap this week...I'll double check last weeks standings as I'm not sure who finished in 4th.
TOP 4 recieve a 5% handicap. Bottom 4 LOSE 5%.
I'm looking forward to this weeks race at Hockenheim National.
