70f right now, gonna top out at 80f today. ;)

Well the lab was as bad as I expected. One parking place, sandwiched between a huge truck and a Lexus. No one ahead of me at the lab, but I still had to wait 15 minutes. My veins were uncooperative, and four sticks later, they had to use my wrist. AND I got scoldings for not coming in sooner. Arg!!

Taking my mom out to lunch later to gossip and relax. I need to get ungrumpied (it's a word Knight, I just invented it).

Gotta love lab people who scold you while repeatedly jabbing you with a sharp implement.

I still remember the nurse who was laughing at me while I was groaning in pain and slowly coming out from under anasthetic when I had a surgery. The bitch.

I think there's a special place in hell reserved for all medical personnel. (Especially Medic, who will be sent to the "Ironic Punishment Division" and forced to play Team Snipers repeatedly for all eternity.)

There ARE some really sweet people in the medical field, just  too few and hard to find sometimes. I had a wonderful nurse down at Jackson in Miami years ago. Took care of me as if I was her own. The doctor on the other hand, was a useless piece of self importance.

So my first question is what do the medical dudes say? Red flashing lights, full panic, freak out? or as I suspect, cool, professional, done this a million times, don't worry? Given your now proven reputation for ignoring the advise not to worry by doctors, I do kinda suspect you are freaking out unnecessarily. Of course they are taking her off the thinners for the op. Makes perfect sense. Once that relatively minor op is done and she is in recovery, she will be back on the thinners. No harm done. If there was any major heath risk, your fears would be focused on the facts of that risk, and as you have not mentioned any? at least as outlined by the professionals? I fully expect to hear the news on Saturday that your Mum is fighting fit and coming home soon :)

Knight, how long have you been married? And I dare you to let the missus read the following...

Sometimes women don't want you to fix it. Sometimes they just want you to listen....

Although I'll de damned if I can figure out which/when sometimes...

Oh, Good Morning all!

Speaking of "good people" in the medical field, when I was recovering I had to stay a couple of days at the hospital. I had a roomie in the bed next to me, other side of the curtain. He had had some surgery too.

A female urologist came in to check on him. She was nice, but strictly professional. She had to check certain parts and have him cough, if you know what I mean.

Wasn't two minutes after she left that he picked up the phone and called a buddy: "Hey, just had my balls felt up by a woman doctor. She was pretty hot, too!"

Say things as I see them mate always have always will, married 33 years and she laughed, part of why she has stayed with me is I never sugar coat, am usually right and people have always trusted that when I say anything it is the truth as I see it, not always pleasant, but always honest. If you don't want to know? Don't ask. Simple as. wink

Totally agree with everything you said Knight. Excpet Kitten never asked a question. Otherwise I'd never have made my statement. wink

That said, I'm not trying to pick anything. I know you're always up front and I do my damndest to always remember just that, no matter how it sounded. cheeky

I wouldn't have it any other way, either!  I thoroghly enjoy hanging w/ my European & Aussie/Kiwi friends online, since meeting at a pub for a pint or 2 isn't going to be a common occurence (as much as I wish I could).

Ah yeah that would be a gas, a simple lottery win is all that is needed....Of course that would mean doing the lottery...which I don't. Can't take the sense of disapointment every week.

Yeah, I'm in the "can't win if you don't buy a ticket" group myself.

It would absolutely rock to have a pint IN Ireland with a couple friends for the first time. Even Helios I guess...

How far apart are you and Fitzy located Knight?

YAY, just had a call from a friend in the same sword type bussiness as myself, he is looking for a fight team to do a sword fight at a banquet and I was his first choice. A first tester event that if it goes well could lead onto the Hotel group doing the same thing every weekend in different hotels...The money is good, expenses paid, accomadation and food included. That is a rare thing indeed...

You should kill the other guy. Less competition for next year and you give the guests a spectacle that they will remember for a lifetime. You just can't buy that kind of publicity.

Vacation it isn't, eight hour round trip, and it may be an odd kinda job, but it is work. I have to be nice to people for gods sake...I hate being nice to people...But being paid sweetens the pot :)

Also just got a couple of days film work, less well paid, no expensis, but this time of year I take what I can get.

There is no competition. The other guys lads do re-enactment style bish bash bosh, we do historically accurate choreographed displays...That is why he called me. If I kill him I lose an employer...Not a great business move. But thanks for the advice cheeky

Even better...you'll never get rich working for somebody else. Kill him, then loot his body. The audience will likely be unarmed so you could just brandish your blood-soaked murder stick in their direction and they will shit money to preserve their owns skins. If you work it right, you could retire early.

Knight,

Yep there is truth in that, though we don't exactly work for, we are contracted by...I could have taken over an event company some time back, but to be honest the hassle of being the organiser is not for me. It is enough to just organise my small crew, herding cats is the feeling.
