I saw it on the Gamestop website and I have looked at a couple at BestBuy.  I'm spoiled by my surround sound system in my living room so I think I'm going to do a full surround sound in my office where I play.   My mom had a sound bar for her tv and it worked pretty good.  It does a lot better than the tv speakers but to me nothing replaces a sound coming from a speark that is actually behind you.  For around the same price you can find the home theater in a box systems that usually come with a control unit and speakers.

I don't think we've had a Polk sound bar yet, but we've tried two and they were both crap. Sound wasn't that great, didn't work well (randomly cut out), etc. Hubby has officially forbidden be to buy another lol! BUT my dad has one and loves it. So maybe we just have bad luck?

It's a matter of room at the moment.  My tv is in my office...so between the entertainment stand, desk, 2 bookcases and the loveseat couch I managed to squeeze in here I don't have a lot of room...certainly not enough to put in a surround system.  I know soundbars can be hit or miss, but I'm hoping this one might fit the bill till next year when I move into something a little bigger.

This is the company that created these speakers.  I have little doubt they will release a product not worth the money charged.  My entire surround sound is vintage Polk Audio's and it sounds amazing.

Well after some thought I might be looking into this.  I bought some Polk bookshelf speakers that were on sale at Best Buy.  Sounded great but as you stated Infernal I just don't have room in my office.  So those speakers are now used in the garage and I'm looking at soundbars now.

I noticed they have two soundbars designed for Xbox.  The N1 is just the soundbar, then there is the Soundbar 5000 that comes with a sub.  $100 difference between the two.

I think the N1 beats out the 5000 even though the other has a sub just for the simple fact that the N1 was designed from the ground up with gaming in mind and has custom EQs already set for you.  Just have to wait for it to be released and reviews to come in to see what people say.

Ever think about small wall mounted speakers with a sub? There are some really good ones out there that can be purchased separately or as a set. Polk Audio would probably be one of the best of the middle quality group. That would work in a smaller listening area. Of course that is assuming the speakers are connected to a receiver. $100 more for a bar with a sub sounds about right.

Check out the VIzio 5.1 system http://store.vizio.com/home-theater.html?cat=54

It has small rear speakers and a pretty compact sub.  It's wireless between the soundbar and the sub which the rears plug into.  Its reviews are pretty good for a home theater audio option so it should do pretty good in a small room for gaming.

Polk make good speakers, I had a center channel and 4 bookshelf speakers for my old 7.1 system, great speakers.

Got a sound bar for the bedroom and it has bluetooth among other options and I'm liking being able to use it to play music off my phone.

After posting that I found where the N1 has a sub output so you can buy a sub and connect it.  Could get a small Polk sub for around 150$ at Best Buy I think.   My problem is I don't have room on my shelf for a Reciever.  The X1 is about as big as I can go on the shelves I built under my tv.   Oh well not in a hurry so I'm keeping my options open.  But yea for sure gonna wait and watch for reviews before I throw some money out.

if someone gets the N1, let me know your review.  A friend is looking to buy a sound bar.
