Moving Family Plan Members to New Box

They did away with the family plan but we still have 3 accounts. I move mine over (main account) with no problems.  Try to move my two sons' accounts and here comes the problems. You need an email and password to start an account on new Xbox. Only email and password we have is my main one. Won't work for them. I do some exploring. Xbox has assigned them emails ending in @xboxlivefamily.com. Don't know passwords and can't get them sent since these are bogus emails. Of cours I can't get hold of Xbox. Anybody had this problem? Anybody know what to do?  I have two pissed off little boys right now.

I do not.  Soryuwebb just had this problem with his 360 account.  His account is old enough that he does not remember his password.  With microsofts new security policies they needed him to provide information he does not know.  After a few days on the phone calling back and forth between 18004myxbox and Microsoft.....he ended up creating a new Tag  and  abandoning  the tag he has had since 07.  Microsoft is giving him $60 for the trouble. (Really one year of gold). He was and is pissed. The good news he is not emotionally attached to his gamer score.  

My wife had this happen a few years back...she could not remember the email account or password she used at sign up.  She had to sart a new tag as well.

hope you find a better solution.

I had seen one of my son's gamer names in a menu somewhere but when we tried to log him in I couldn't find it again.  I've been trying to do the same thing and haven't found a solution yet.  If I happen to stumble onto something I'll for sure let you know.   Scratching my head right now though.

I believe that new users can be created on a single XBL account on the XBOX ONE (family users). The following link should explain how to do it: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/security/add-family-member The problem is that if you want your kids to continue using XBL on the 360 as well, when their current "subscriptions" expire you will have to create new single subscriptions for each one since M$ has eliminated the 360 family membership plan. At least that's what I understand from what M$ has published. Hope this helps.

The current accounts when split DID have 3 months added to them though. That said, my boys haven't done anything with theirs either...They're all PC these days.

Xbox called me back. They had to do some things on their end and I had to sit at the computer and do a few things but things are set up now. Just call Xbox and they will call you back. And walk you through it.

I've had the same problem for several months now, ever since they instituted the new security policies.  Exactly as you described, each boy was assigned an email and password though xbox.  The problem was the security stuff it kept asking about.  I had to go into their accounts and attach my email, since I"m the one paying for the account.  However, this was a ridiculously time consuming project and I had to attempt it several times.  I had to use a credit card verification service to prove I was an adult and authorized to make changes to their accounts, which, I might add, charges you a small fee, only to have it charge me and then say the site wasn't working properly(this was the site that xboxlive specifically sent me to...)

 

I spent several hours on the phone with xbox support and they could do nothing.  

 

I must have jimmied around it long enough to fix it because they've been able to log in for a month or so now and not get told to create a security proof.  I'm hoping it is resolved but I guess I'll really find out when it comes time to renew in 3 months....
