Has anyone tried Assetto Corsa?

I really haven't been much into the PC racing scene, but I've been watching some videos on this game and even though it is still in beta phase, it looks amazing.  So far it sounds like is got Sim feel and next gen graphics.

So the question is, has anyone tried it out yet? $40 seems like a lot for a beta, and while that also gets you the 1.0 release whenever that comes, I have yet to see any numbers on projected cars and tracks for final release

I've been wondering the same thing.  I had bought into the RF2 beta/prepurchase.  So was kinda hesitant about this one but it looks really good.

I'm really interested, but I just don't think I'll have time for it right now.  Between crazy hours at work and GT6 and converting from controller to wheel(which looks like it's gonna take a LOT of seat time to get up to speed), I just don't know when I'd be able to play it.  The videos are drool inducing though...

Thanks Rusty.   I just hope that this developer can keep up the good work.  I'd hate to see something so promising turn into vapor ware

I have Assetto Corsa.  The graphics are awesome, particularly if you have triple screens.  The FFB and physics are a noticeable step above any console racing game, and are on par with rFactor 2 and iRacing.  The cars are grippy, but you can make them spin, particularly if you turn off all aids.  The recent update added the Scuderia P4/5, which is an absolute blast to drive.  There is no career mode yet, nor are there AI or multiplayer.  All of that is coming.  Buy with confidence.

How does Forza 5 physics compare to rFactor/iRacing physics?  Is Forza too grippy or not grippy enough?

It is hard for me to compare, since I play iRacing, rFactor 1 & 2 and Assetto Corsa on my PC with a Clubsport wheel and pedal set, whereas I play Forza 5 with the Xbox One controller, which is fricking awesome.  That caveat aside, I find the Assetto Corsa cars to be much grippier than cars in iRacing and rFactor 1 and 2.  The cars in Forza tend to be less grippy, particularly in the lower classes with the stock crappy tires, but on the other hand, the Mazda 787 and the Lotus F1 cars stick to the track like glue, as they should.
