I'm sure this has been discussed but I'm a derp

I have the tritton headphones. They are not wireless. I forget the model. I believe they will work with ps4, but it requires the optical digital cable and some box and hooking up all these wires. I want to just plug a pair of headphones into the controller and be able to get chat and game audio. I'd prefer earbuds. I don't want some huge cans. Does such a thing exist? I know they would need the three rings on the jack. Any suggestions?

Maybe the Vita ear buds? They have a mic for chat and they sound OK.  Don't know if the jack is the same as the one on the controller but could check tonight

Any 3.5mm headphones with a mic will work on the controller. I bought a pair of those skull candy earbuds from Target for about $20.

Anything like this will work. Bottom pic with the mic.

You can control audio levels with a long press of the ps button and adjust devices.

For some reason I think I read about complaints about those before. I can't find an answer as to why. I'll keep digging around.
