Mind you this is just a sampling of sales receipts, but the percentages are crazy.
Because there were more Xbox Ones in stock than PS4s. Total sales to date are a better marker than a very limited survey. But really, this all means nothing short term. We really won't know what console is "winning" for a few years.
Does it really matter? That is the question that stands before me.

No as the PS4 had a weeks head start. I'm more interested in the numbers a year from now. Truthfully all things equal, it comes down to what I want to play. Rest is irrelevant.

I don't care so much for who wins or who doesn't. I just thought it was interesting that so much was being sold.

It is interesting. My response was directed at OldSchool. Who sells more at this point in time depends on the supply, not demand. The 360 sold just over 300k at launch because that is how many were produced. If they had 1,000,000 units at launch, I'm sure they would have been able to sell that many.
And yes, we need more games. It's a long drought until Infamous.....
I think the only reason the sales figures should matter to us is if one of these consoles started performing very poorly. All indications are that they are both doing well. I, as a consumer, want that to continue. Buy the console you want and enjoy it.
I'd say this is the most important statement out of all this mess.
Both systems seems pretty good, both seem to need some after release tweaking, and both seem to be getting the factory support they need so far...I'm not into fanning the crapola between the two, not into PS's, and probably never will be, but that said, I don't begrudge anyone that is, it's a non-starter to me. I do see and can appreciate that the competition created because there are both is a win win across the board.
Weird how the releases are so staggered everywhere.
Ahem...

PS4 came out a week after xbox1 in Europe.
