Xbox One PS4 equipment Failure
Thought I would start a thread for this gen console failures and other general fuckary since today I have had an issue.
I noticed a couple of days ago that my XBOX One Kinect was acting more wonky then usual. Wasn't responding to voice commands as easily, was feeding back voice, was not turning tv and cable box on on start up. Well today when I turned the system on the light on the front of the Kinect didn't light up. and got a message that Kinect was not connected. So first thought was one of the kids accidentally knocked the cord out . Well I checked around the back and all was connected tight and ship shape. So then I started trouble shooting and lots of turning it off and on again. Well to no avail it did not turn back on. So off to the xbox.com help pages and trouble shooting guides. Well nothing helped and all trouble shooting help directed me to replacement page. So order placed for replacement Kinect and should have it in 3-5 days. I know lots of people have told me to call and demand free stuff or credits or months of subscriptions. But I am just happy the ordering process seemed quick and I didn't have to talk to some guy in India named Tim.
Lets hope this is my only failure. I have at least one clan mate that had to send his xbox back in after a couple days with the drive failure. Feel free to post here with any hardware or peripheral failures here/
My wife got me a xbone for Christmas.The first one wouldn't take a disc. The one I exchanged it for from Best Buy had the Kinect failure after @ 20 minutes of use. The replacement Kinect has worked fine for the couple of hours I have used it. I used the microsoft "advantage" exchange and had the new kinect in 3 days.
My PS4 had an odd audio problem on the second day but cleared up when I changed HDMI cables.No problems since.
I have that memory error and get kicked to Dashboard now and again but other than that she runs okay. Wish the dashboard wasn't do sluggish, but other than that I'm pretty happy with the system. Voice commands work great for me.
Mine won't recognize 'xbox turn on' even after going through the setup wizard again. If i turn the system on it'll turn on my TV and audio too, and if i say xbox turn off,it'll turn the TV, audio and xbox off. But the damn thing just won't turn on with voice commands like it's suppose to. Otherwise though haven't had any issues yet.
Chalk that up to user error
You're using the wrong command. Take the "turn" out and just say "Xbox on"
