It does look great, the only problem I see is what system will the majority of us play it on, XBOX1 or PS4? Right now, Im leaning towards the PS4 since its been confirmed exisiting wheels that work on PS3 will also work on PS4's!
If Forza 6 is sorted I will be back on xbox. If not it will be ps4 for gt7.Hey Grimm, you should double check that. From what I've read on Playstation's FAQ, the platform itself does not support PS3 peripherals, it is up to the game makers themselves to add support. Which means each game will behave differently.
Given how well the Thrustmaster works with Forza5, through integrated platform support, I can only assume PCars on X1 will be as good if not better, especially since the kinks will be sorted out by then.
Here is the source of my info - http://www.simdriving.net/news/all-ps3-compatible-wheels-to-work-on-ps4
Since the hardware will support the existing wheels, Id be surprised if a game maker would force them to use another wheel. The issue with FM5 is a xbox1 hardware issue rather than T10 (Yes I know they are together). Its atleast promissing
Max - I do agree with you and hope an adapter will work out soon
PC for me - not getting either a PS4 or Xbone, and my GTX 770 needs to be used to its fullest.
Hopefully by the time Project Cars is released the XB1 will support Fanatic wheels
I know the PS4 pads work with the PS3 lol:

So my fanatec is not officially supported by playstation and it works on ps3 because gt5-6 has wheel support .
So if this is how we are reading this any game that has wheel support should be ok to use my fanatec on ps4. Pretty much like PS3 as it's not officially supported on the platform ?
The only game that I have played on console that has official fanatec support is forza but I use it on Race pro. Gt5-6. Grid2. NFS Shift2.
i have a lot of hope for project cars but i dont think any of the current fantec wheels will work on the xbox one. im hoping for something around the middle of the year from them that will support xbone and PS4
I am playing Project CARS on PC. It supports triple screens, the Xbox, PS and Wii U versions will not. I no longer own a Fanatec wheel and thus it doesn't matter to me if Fanatec wheels work on Xbox One. That being said, for the sake of you Fanatec owners, I hope Fanatec or Chronusmax make an adapter that will allow your wheels to work on Xbox One.
I have played a lot of Project CARS since I bought in in 2012. I also have Forza 5. To be honest, I like Forza 5 a lot better, even though I cannot play it on triple screens.
I've had Pcars since release on PC and really enjoy watching it build and have been anticipating it release since I first read the dev notes back in 2010. I won't compare it to any game as there is far too many features not implemented in the FFb and content . But from what I've seen so far I really enjoy. I don't have fm5 and won't as I was turned off by the lack of tracks, lose of the community clubs and the fact a monkey could put a ridiculously unread tic tune on a car and make it work and let's not forget the money hungry dlc :(. Pcars won't have endless amounts of production cars like forza and gt but will feature mostly race cars and focus on simulating a racing experience with a few new ingame features yet to be implemented in any other console game like talk to pit and customizable ingame screen like assetto corsa. Not mention laser scanned tracks and cars from my favorite series, btcc, wtcc, dtm and gt as well as some production cars that can be upgraded and customized.
after being sucked in by gt6 I look forward to what gt7 will be capable of on the ps4 that being said I'll be buying a ps4 for the 2 games but will also play it on PC depending where the action is at. I have a triple screen setup but it isn't a game breaker going to a single my game plan is a super fov setup using a 3d projection screen as iam tired of a stretched view screen pillars and the cost of constant upgrades to power these PC beasts. Personally I thought once I went to PC racing it was gonna be the greatest thing, ya there's lots of cool add on gimmicks you can buy to enhance your experience but after the constant trouble shooting, old content being brought to new games, betas, lack of races and too many hardcore opinionated know It alls in the PC world. I decided all I really want is simplicity of the console my wheel and buttkicker, and a good grid of friends to race with to give me my racing fix :)
The main issue with PCars is the fact that will be available on next gen, current gen and PC. We may have several people playing the game but on different platforms. That's a serious issue because if it is what some of us hope for then we may end up separated by our individual choice of platform. I'm still looking forward to its release.
This!
Understood, but if folks can get it on PC, they should. That will be the best version. It will have the most options when it comes to wheels, pedals and shifters, the best graphics and triple screen compatibility.
Yes but how will it run on a non gaming PC? It will be pretty expensive to get a decent PC to run it I would imagine
I do not think it requires a beefy PC to run on a single screen. For triple screens, it does require a beefy GPU.
ATM it's hard to tell because there is so much more to be added and it's yet to be optimized....to be honest your looking at $1500-2k+ machine to play any of the next gen sims smoothly and iam sure iracing will get a massive over haul in the coming yrs as well
So herein lies our problem. So many choices right now and for the foreseeable future that its contributing to this splintering affect we are experiencing. It's why I'm sitting still and waiting for more info to decide on a SIM to settle with, a cockpit to invest in and a wheel setup to upgrade to. Very exciting but also kinda frustrating.
Definitely a point to that, which should then speak to us as a community not making any large or drastic changes. A wait-and-see how things pan out approach may be better in the long term.
Very true what was already a small community will just get smaller as people pick sides and the flame war begins. For me the future sees gt7 & Pcars on ps4 and Pcars &iracing if they get that new tire model on all the road cars on PC.
Being able to paint and being able to pause the game, tune and then continue is a big deal to me. And FM6 has to be better than FM5.
I hope to have an XBOX1 by the time Project cars comes out.
Since I started to play Forza 4 on triple screens it has made me a believer that triple screens with a racing sim is completely a different experience than playing in a single monitor . This is why I have started to build a gaming PC . Once turn 10 decides to allow triple screens for there next Forza title it will cost me the same amount to build a beefy gaming PC instead of buying 2 more Xbox Ones and 2 extra copies of Forza to get that triple monitor experience and and only allowing to play just that one title. Where as with a gaming PC not only will I be able to play all sims on triple monitors but also other types of games. I'm still a console player at heart . I just want to experience it on the PC side.Just my two cents. Forza 5 would definitely kick ass on a triple screen setup.
PC is great but you better be ready to spend a lot of time installing and trouble shooting and upgrading.
Depends on what PC sim you are playing. If you are doing iRacing, it cannot be much simpler to get it up and running. The set up is cake and any person that plays racing games, console or PC, can do it. Assetto Corsa is similarly simple, as are the Codemasters games, including Dirt 3, GRID 2 and F1 2013. rFactor 1 and 2, however, will test your patience, particularly rFactor 1. That is partly why I no longer play rFactor 1, it just has too many problems with set up, etc. Project CARS is now a lot simpler to get up and running, but it requires beefy hardware, particularly if you are going with triples. I expect it to be more refined once its released and most of the bugs have been worked out.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE PC racing!
triple screens, addon gimmicks better sound yada yada....
BUT there are some negatives, costly beastly machines to run all the cool gimmicks, updates, problem shooting, power bill, extra heat in the summer all that I could deal with what drew me away due to my work hrs......having to find a league to race in that met my availability if you work days your fine, if you work evenings your only option is running lunch hr races with the euro guys which I've done for the past yr. none of the PC sims have a single player or career mode except simbin games, no car building , no open multiplayer track rotation, and you need photoshop to paint cars so all your really left with is running laps with the ai and practicing.
Only PC sim with a top notch multiplayer with hourly races is iracing. Excellent sim, IMO the best quality tracks hands right now.....but can get costly.
i really hope Pcars has an iracing multiplayer setup or how forza 4 did it by classes cause I personally hate the open server concept and having to join leagues....I need something that I can hop on at any given hr and be able to race humans.
Like I said love my PC sims but beware the PC community is MUCH smaller than the console side and with 4 good sims being released this yr making 5 available I feel those numbers will shrink as people pick there game of choice.
Gt5 sold 10 million copies iracing which claims to have the largest online community has 45k members not sure if that's current or todate? So quit a big difference
