My opinion, EA should release it for XBL Digital download the moment it goes Gold. Instant load testing and they won't lose one sale from the try and reject crowd. They can even allow or disallow pre-release service records and achievments. No campaign story to spoil either.
Again, it's not too late for changes. Not anything major, sure, but there are plenty of things that could pop up that would fall under a "day 1 patch" type scenario. Or at the very least, find out about some issues now, instead of after release, and get a head start on a fix

Respawn has confirmed that the beta (demo) will NOT be tied to a pre-order.

I'll be getting this for the x1...they said in an interview that on the x1 it uses the cloud to make the ai better & more real...can't wait.
Looks great. I just wish there was some sort of destruction a la Battlefield.
I have a spot on the shelf cleared for the big ass statue. Really looking forward to this game.
