Having Fun, Jawjacking, & WTF Moments in TitanFall !!!
Well I managed to play for a little while with quite a few of you guys today (LOL), I thought we did pretty well in some of our matches, even though we played against people that were at level 49 for crying out loud; geeze did those people ever get off their couches to go to the frickin bathroom at all ???
But Respawn really shouldn't have allowed the servers to functioning prior to the actual release day of the game (today), because seriously, what chance did a first level player have against a group of people that were all in leveled up in the upper 40's, definitely needs to be some balancing in the match making, but otherwise I was having a good time, and laughing like usual.
I'm still hoping that through future updates the game will address that issue, as well as allowing us to create private matches, and increase the intelligence of the A.I grunts. I did experience some online issues with the servers today, which resulted in the screen freezing or losing all functionality of my pilot and cannot communicate with any of my squad mates.
I'm gonna need a Titanfall Support group. I keep telling myself just one more match, that was like two hours ago.
I think the match making will start to smooth out once everyone starts leveling, I was supprised myself when I saw some people were already in the mid thirties. I've only had two rounds where I had some server hiccups. Other than that its been freaking awesome.
I agree with the stability. Shit, every COD title (except maybe Ghosts) had launch issues, needing patches, and a month of work to fix. Couple little issues is all today but otherwise slick as snot. I think it really is a departure from other FPS titles in the genre and it is a nice switch up. When I want a more pure shooter, I have COD. When I want a different flavor, this is it. I had enough fun today that I may not play anything else for a couple of months actually.
COD. More pure shooter. I'm not sure I follow.
I think that is exactly what he is saying, he has CoD when he wants a pure shooter. This is his different flavor, or 'not pure shooter' game and it sounds like he loves it. I like pure shooters, so this is getting traded in today. But I'm glad the game is living up to the hype and everyone that enjoys this type of game has something new to play.
That's it. I think both have a place in my rotation.
This game could take months to feel competent in. So much data for my old head. After that, I'll just be my usual bad.
Please tell me friendly fire is turned off. I really let loose on my team, more than once.
Same here. No friendly fire that I can tell. Hardcore Titanfall? That sounds wicked.
The bigger thing is WHY is the game matchmaking like that? My first game as a level 1 had me VS two level 40 guys. That's just straight up non intelligent match making, it's just throwing anyone and everyone together regardless of skill from what I can tell.
I disco'd from that lobby after the match and ended up in a game with a level 35 guy on each side and those matches ended up being more even and fun.
I can see the point of calling some COD titles a "pure shooter" compared to Titanfall. It's just a description from a point of view.
It really doesn't take much to rank up. I think I'm a 31 and I only have just over 4 hours of play
Well I see that Respawn is looking into cheaters, so for those people that have earned their respective rank in level legitimitely, they have nothing to fear. I played this afternoon with Pyro for a few matches, and managed to pull off a feat with my Titan that I don't know if the Ogre Class is capable of doing, when using your fists in melee combat; because I literally ripped the arms of a Stryder Class Titan and smashed him over the head.
I honestly don't know how I pulled it off, but I was laughing my ass off, and damn Electric Smoke comes in handy when you get into a situation where two of more Titans have got you cornered, I may only be at level 13 right now (have to rehab my knee consistently before my next surgery for my left knee on March 28th) but I'm having a blast with this game, still learning the maps, and there are some I haven't even been on yet.
Each titan has a different move.Like the Atlas will rip the pilot out. Anyway, when you get an enemy titan's health down to nothing and they go into that "survival" or nuclear eject mode.... the health bar is a yellow and black caution looking thing.... go up to them and melee
Yea the ranks are coming pretty easy. I'm sitting around lvl 32 and I haven't played too much, and have had plenty of matches where my team was just raped. Overall after the BF4 and COD launch I have to say this one is going really smooth. I have only had maybe three matches where there was connection issues. The rest of the time the game has ran smooth with someone occasionaly having a horrible connection.
I have noticed some matches though where people around 10 - 20 are put against people leveled 30 to 40. I think though that in time that will be sorted but thats really the only complaint I would have so far.
I haven't been able to play anything else since picking this game up. I get going and next thing I know its like two or three hours later.
Leveling can slow if you don't look through all the challeneges and see what may be slowing you down. Once a weapon is leveled etc.. the challenge and overall XP can slow like it did for me. i'm saving all my bonus XP burn cards for the begining of my second generation in hardpoint matches.
Really need to get better in the Titan. I don't even have a Titan execution yet. And I've seen Titans being beaten with their arms in a few matches. There is a challenge called disarmed.

Yeah, I should have saved up my double XP cards, but I didn't. I had a 27k match not too long ago that got me almost two levels somewhere around 35 (second gen).
I played the beta on PC and did well, getting back into FPS on xbox1 with a bunch of level 40+ and doing it alone hurt my bunghole big time. OUCH. I'll get used to it again, but this game is hella fun.
I'll shoot youa FR tonight. It can be hard finding a good team. I was in a round the other night where most of my team were under lvl 20, I was level 38 and the other team was all above level 40. So match making is a bit borked right now. I've also seen people that are on their 3rd and 4th prestiege levels.
Well last two nights have been fun and a complete laugh riot, while playing TitanFall; thanks to everyone that I've played with recently for the good times. Playing Last Titan Standing can be certainly interesting to say the least, either things go really sweet quickly, or completely going to hell just by using thoughtful strategic manuvers.
But I did enjoy teaming up with a few people and playing Rock-Em-Sock Robots, with a few of our opponents, I literally with the help of someone else (think it was Evolve???) went to town and beat the shit out of two titans, simply using our fists, I will automatically go in for the kill if someone pins themself in a corner, and just pound them; and LOL plaed back what I asked the Xbox 1 to record, and all I got was me ranking up, so much for showing off some cool Titan kills!!!!
Here's a tip for longer videos. Say "xbox, snap game dvr" when that pops up click on (or say) end clip. You'll then have numerous lengths to choose from between 30 seconds and 5 minutes
