2014 F1

So the season is officially on the way starting @ Albert park Australia with practice running yesterday and qualifying later tonite.

so what do you guys think of the new cars? Think it will be a more exciting season than last yr? Any predictions, what do you look forward to the most ?

All I can hope for is that vettel doesn't win again.  He's a great driver but I've speculated for a while there was some funny buisness going on with his ride as it was on another level compared to the rest of the field

Ah it's always been the way of things, sometimes a team and driver combination just runs away with things. I never make predictions, you ever know before the start who has that magic formula. I think maybe Williams will be back with a more competitive package, they seem to have been struggling for a while and it does not sit well with them. Aside from that, Ferrari are looking good as always and there are always those dark horses, the lesser teams who manage to surprise us all when they find that driver that just rockets them into the big money. But damn the cars are ugly LOL

When £240 milliion is spent per year its no surprise they run away with it (Marussia only spend on average of 35-40 million)

I like how little downforce there is in the rear, and also love how the new guys Magnussen and Kvyat have taken to it running!

Guess thats down to being so used to low downforce coming from F3.5's.

If the Mercs do start running away with it I would expect it to be Rosberg leading since he can manage his fuel and tyres a lot more efficiently than Hamilton.

Well I watched the race and it was exciting to see the mix up of the new guys in with some of the veteran drivers.  Botos was really impressive to me having had to pit to repair the wheel and still come back and move up a number of spots.   I do hate the sound of the new cars though, sounds like they have a muffler now, even my wife commented on how they didn't sound very well.

Not the greatest sound, but if it makes the racing more exciting and puts different faces on the podiums iam all for it :)
