Taken for granted?

15 years ago I was playing on the N64 on my own thinking this is awesome.

Fast forward to today and look at what we have, and I mean all of us here!

We do something each week that not even real life racing can produce.

We have a grid of drivers racing from all over the world in REAL time to the point where we race within 1 foot of each other while talking to each other.

This my friends is insane. If someone said this to me 15 years ago while I played SAGA GT "hey in the future you will be able to be on a track with 11 other people from 9 different countries all racing with each other in real time" i would be like "GTFO."

But look what we have now.

So bravo chaps. This is the future we live in and nothing is impossible

I was racing online back in 1999 with the dreamcast on dialup with 4x4 evolution and it was an awesome experience. We had text chat with keyboards in the lobby and it was also cross platform, pc,mac and dreamcast, the max lobbies were 8 back then but the racing was super tight and photofinishes which played amazingly smooth considering it was over Dialup!!! The DC was ahead of it's time imo and I played other online racers also over the course of the next few years which gave me much hope for the future of online racing with consoles and pc's.

CPro, it's what keeps us racing. So many options now as well. The future is bright with several more choices coming out soon. Looking forward to races here with you guys for many years to come.

The technology is simply amazing.  I am guilty of taking it for granted.  On Saturday morning, for example, I did a 167 lap race at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Ford Fusion, as part of a 29 car field in iRacing with virtually no lag and few, if any, disconnects.  Unbelievable....

Aint that the truth. Got to check out Greg's awesome set-up last week. He threw me in a slower open wheel car on Spa using iRacing and I thought I knew what throttle control was until I realized I ddn't after driving iRacing with a high end set-up. Not hard to understand why you like iRacing over all other games Craig, definitely top notch stuff but I'm sure Nascar still sucks :)

I am glad you got to try it out Parcells.  Keep in mind that your wheel and pedal set will work perfectly in iRacing, and you do not need a powerful computer to run it on a single screen.  I do prefer the oval racing, but the road racing is also pretty good.
