Build & Tunes for Loki
Build & Tunes for Loki
So here are a couple cars that I would consider easy to drive or noob friendly. Any part not listed in the build is stock. Keep in mind that these aren't leaderboard builds or anything. I haven't spent a TON of time with every car in my garage to figure out "Well this one is actually two tenths a lap faster with the stock tranny and a little more horsepower" but they are good cars. My cars assume that you ARE running both ABS and TCS. If I were to run without them I would have to retune all of my cars.

(Running a little less than full pressure when using ABS actually stops you a little quicker because the ABS isn't kicking in as much and a front oriented balance allows you to more easily brake while cornering at the same time, these can be adjusted to suit your personal driving style however. The game has the balance backwards: if you set the balance all the way to the REAR at 0% you will only be using the FRONT brakes. If you'd rather have the back end kick out while cornering and braking at the same time set the balance to 51% or a few clicks more.)
Differential - Front - Acceleration 25% - Deceleration 10%

Thanks Nightfall! The funny thing is, I actually had an Integra in real life! It was a Frankenstein build - had the non-VTEC engine with a VTEC head in it. The thing had so much torque that it was so fun to drive! I'll see about putting these cars together in the next few days. I will probably build out the Integra tomorrow in time for my Livestream. Again, my audience is usually kids aged 10 - 12 and I might have a couple of them on during the livestream tomorrow night but it would be nice to have a few "adults" there to help teach the finer points of racing.

LS/VTEC huh? Which head, B16 or B18? No boost?
Nightfall - To be honest with you, I don't remember which head my cousin used when he tuned it. My cousin was the ricer... I was just along for the ride! LOL! Seriously though, back then, I was the kid that put stickers on my rear windshield just for the HP boost that each sticker gave my car. If memory serves me correctly, I had 3 stickers on my car so each sticker brought about 5 HP for a total of 15!!! Oh and my Integra sounded like a really loud lawn mower!!!

I'll check out the Caddy next time I get on. Thanks for sharing.
Im assuming this for FM5??.....Your pretty damn fast fjosh...cant seem to catch you in the Rivals.....I dont run with ABS or TCS..Ive tried to use it and after not having them on for a while it drives me crazy when they are on...Have you tried runing without them on??...On some of the S cars I have to run TCS cause if I tone it down enough not to be so squirly they are slow
Yep, FM5. I tried running without them (TCS and ABS) and gave it 4 days (I play almost everyday), It's just too much for me to do with a controller and two hands. I think of it akin to a drummer trying to play all of his drums but without the use of his legs (kick pedals). I think if I had a wheel and pedals I'd be able to. ...or maybe I just can't do that much multitasking at once.
I use a contrler with clutch/manual...did you try moving your buttons around...I use the right thumb as my gear shifter...and left bumber as clutch..
I use manual with clutch just fine but when I try to add in concentrating on not locking up the brakes (but still trying to stop quickly!) and not lighting up the tires coming out of a corner (but still accelerating fast!) along with clutch, shifting, steering, staying on the racing line, hitting the apex, watching out for other drivers... it just becomes too much.
I do feel like one of the last people in the group that still uses ABS and TCS but I just can't get it. I don't enjoy the game any less for it though and although I'm not top 100 leaderboard fast I'm fast enough.
I wouldnt worry about using ABS and TCS too much, run with whatever your comfortable with. I still run with both as i have the same issues, i cant concentrate on hitting an apex when your worrying about locking up or wheel spinning out of a corner. I have tried running without either or both and still experiment from time to time.
Kat, have you tried switching the clutch to the A button? It means hitting 2 buttons with your thumb but its easier than yout think if you havnt tried it before.
Its cool....you were just saying you didnt enjoy turning the ABS/TCS off, I was just suggesting a way to try it....I was in no way trying to make you fast..=).......like I was saying I cant catch you in the Rivals...hell you got me thinking I need to turn mine on....But I enjoy the challenge of trying to go fast with out them....
Max I havent tried that but it does sound like it would be hard to try to shift and use the clutch with the same finger...
It sounds hard but its a lot easier. Once you get the hang of it your thumb naturally hits both buttons
I also run with no TCS/ABS while using the controller. Manual+clutch as well.
Does well at Bathurst, Sebring, Long Beach, etc. type tracks. Certainly not a leaderboard car but still one of my favs in A Class.
Probably feels a little different for you than it does for me though being as you run without ABS and TCS you might need to mess with the tune a bit, such as the diff.
Nightfall/Josh and Sarcasmo Jones -
Thanks for stopping by last Friday. I had a lot of fun as did the subscribers/friends that joined us. More importantly, I learned a lot from you two! Thanks again! Unfortunately though, stupid Youtube added a bunch of lag to the video so instead of it being just short of 2 hours, Youtube encoding it and publishing it at close to 5 hours! Thankfully, there was no lag during the livestream so those that were watching it last Friday saw it as it was meant to be seen - from my point of view in last place! LOL! Fortunately, I have the video recorded locally so I will edit and post the highlights.
I have yet to go back and review what part/parts I was missing on the Integra but I'll say this - It's a pretty solid set up. It's very forgiving for someone that is new to Forza like myself. I can't wait to see what it can do when I figure out what I missed.
