Sorry for unexcused absence cheeky but the Blue Angels were in town for an airshow and we made a last minute decision to go watch. See you next week.

Judging by the runs last night, its going to continue to be close racing, at leat between similar pitting people.

I really need to tune my car for Laguna and the 'ring though... the corkscrew braking zone was giving me some problems...

About the 'Ring, I figure 20 laps will take about two hours and forty minutes. Is that what you intended, Snoop? A two hour race would be about 15 or 16 laps.

Also, I think the caution window for the 'Ring should be two laps, three at the most. I think after a couple of laps the field should be pretty spaced out and stable.

I know 20 laps at the ring brings the time up slightly more than 2 hours I had originally intended however we have done the 20 laps before and although I think 15 is more than enough its those last 5 laps that really can be a game changer, the fatigue of racing that long people start to make mistakes and all sorts of crashes happen. I remember the last time we did this, I think it was the DTM cars and I ached. BAD. but was a good laugh hearing people curse after completely ruining a lap because of lack of concentration. besides if im awarding double points I want you to break into a sweat earning them lol.

With regard to the rules for the ring I will be discussing them with my stewards and deciding with whats going to happen with cautions pits etc and will be putting a post on here well in advance of the race, so dont worry you will be well informed before we enter the hell that is green :)

Close race at the front tonight in Room A

I was doing well until i got a lag spike on lap 30 which probably cost me a place.

Thanks to everyone that showed and see you next week at Silverstone

Close and clean racing in room B last night, i think the whole field was within 2sec when the dust settled.

Yes, that was a close one and I made my best race since months. Happy about my personal best time.

Any tipps from anyone: How to tune the car for Silverstone instead for Mugello?

Agreed, very good racing in Room B, I raced on my own for quite a while and was suprised where I popped back out. Some serious fatigue setting in, Mugello is really unforgiving of any errors.

I'll miss Silverstone, and then back for the fun of Laguna Seca in these cars...

I think that was one of my most consistent races. I probably would have finished second if it weren't for Derek's fourth pit stop but I think it would have been close.

@Jdan: I don't really have tips but I can send you the setup I plan to run. It's a ForzaTune set up. I'm not a tuner. It could be better but it works OK for me.

If my schedule and math are right, tomorrow is Silverstone... And the Indy 500...

its likely it wont finish by scheduled start time. Plan? (Or did I miss something?)

The Indy started at about 9:30 am, US PDT... And will run for just under 3 hours... That makes it at least a half hour past our race time... At least this time zone.

including zip practice time if I watch the whole race today. I dunno about other times zones, etc... So figured I'd check.

Nice and clean racing lads. The whole field was within one or two sec again. Congrats once again Juan for taking third place, with me very close up the tail of his car.

Yes, a very good clean race. Jorm, Thane (because of his many pit stops) and I had some good racing towards the end of the race. A lot of fun.

I think he made his last pitstop around lap 24-25 and i tried desperately to pass him before he left the pit, but if went out right before I was on my way to pass him, which made me get the wrong line into the turns. So I had to catch up wit you two again. I wasn't able to get close to Juan until lap 27 where I tried to pass him, but I had to let it go, otherwise I would have ruined the race for both of us. It was a close call (g don't know how close though, since I haven't watched the replay yet)

Nice race!

@Juan: I watched the replay and saw, that you have a "rookie"-sign onto the car and your team is "rookie" also. Well, I think that is not correct. With all those fast times and good results you achieved, I have to be the rookie :-)

@General: Retirement? No, please not. I remember those races with your BTCC Honda. You were on your way to become an alien. Not every car and not every track is good for me. So it is with you and your Jaguar. If you have to retire because of one race with 3 seconds behind, I had have to quit many months ago. Always 5 seconds and always at the end of the field.

Somewhere here in the forum was a quote with "..never quit...." from Rob Austin. I think this quote is very near to "the truth".

@Thane: I know, that you touched me without ..... aahrg.. my english is bad..... I mean you did not want to. It happend, I spun and after that I learned something.

My lap times were okay and consistent until that trip beside the track. And it was a great feeling, because for one round I was the leader and number one! Than I spun and I had to cool down. I tried to find my concentration and rythm, but I failed. In the first corner I flew from the track. Without any help from anybody. I just totally missed my line and breaking point.

To calm down I pitted and that also was wrong, because during my pitstop all went by and suddenly I was 5th.

I exited pit, tried hard to follow and did that so hard, that I did not realize General, who was beside me as we reached the long straight. Okay, I think he did not give me a sign or call, and so I let my car drift to the right side for my line and there he was.

General spun off. Sorry!

From now on I pushed and pushed and .... pushed too hard. Somewhere in front of me I saw a Porsche (Jorm) and I made up some meters, but in the next turn I lost all progress. And that went on and on for the rest of the race. To go into the pits was wrong, because otherwise I would have had a chance to find my rythm and to stay in front. May be I would have been so consistent to built up a distance to the others, so that I would have been able to stay in front after a late pitstop.

Next time I will try to do better.
