What will you be playing on?
I'm sure this could be a factor in buying or skipping the game if people don't think there will be a lot of other friends or at least 2o2players on their console of choice. So let's see if we can get an idea of what will be going on. I'm getting it for the Xbone.

Xbox One for me. Was going with the PS4 originally but everyone I play with now doesn't have one.

I played the beta on 360, but I'll be upgrading to the XB1 in time for launch in September.

Xbox 360 only. No plans to upgrade to X1 any time soon.
I'll be looking for a team at some point down the read to do Raids. Hopefully there will be enough 2o2p folks to form a 360 team, but based on responses so far here, doesn't look promising.

Bungie has said they will. You can tranfer your Guardian back and forth, but only on the same family. So PS3 to 4, no PS3 to Xbox 1.
Yes, I played the beta on the 360 and the XBONE and was able to move my Guardian back and forth between consoles several times without an issue. Every time you log in, he's just there.
I will be buying the game for both consoles as well.
Was talking to daughter last night about the raids and the need for 6 players. I said that since coop splitscreen is out, she'll need more friends partly because I can't play with her on the X1.
She said we each need to get it for the 360 cuz we both have a console.
Now, I don't know what to do.... Don't want to buy 3 copies of the same game...
That and some of the Over 50 crowd won't be on XB1 for awhile yet. I may have to break my rule about buying for old tech. Just this once though.

I'll be going with the Xbox 360 version as long as it's available on demand from XBL. My DVD player died last month, and while that seems like a perfect excuse to upgrade, I'm still not sold on either the Xbone or PS4.
