To all Resist members--
As most of you know, Doodi is doing away with closed clans. Resist was once one of the most active clans at 2Old2Play, but has slowed down lately. Some members are talking in other social media sites (I am, too). Some disappear from the site to rejoin at a later time. Others just don't have that much time to game, chat, post and blog anymore. Even though Resist hasn't been as active as we once were, it's my hope we can breath some life back into this clan. Whatever the cause, it's time to rethink, redo and readjust.
How best to move 2Old2Resist forward? How do we stay intimate with an open clan? Is that even possible? (Not that we were all that closed, we welcomed a lot of new folks into Resist.)
So, at any rate, I'm asking Doodi to move Resist to the open forums, and asking for your support. Resist needs its members to show support in the open Resist forum.
I'm working closely with William and Biznass to create a home for us on the main forums. In the future we can discuss creating a more private place for us to chat.
If anyone has questions, thoughts or ideas to better the site, please don't hesitate in PMing Biznass or me.

I get what they're trying to do, and I respect it to a point, as I do with your hope to hold on to it, to embrace it's former glory as it were... Perhaps we could do podcasts, weekly reviews, gaming nights, etc. But this doesn't fit within the planned "content site with game specific forums" design. Resist wasn't about just 1 game when it was in it's prime, it was about 1 group of gamers that got together to play a great number of games. Effectively we have this with the 2old2playstation group, but again, that too is suffering low participation.
2old2playstation was started a while back to help spread the wings of this part (2old2resist) of the community. Resist was, at the time, the only place for the playstation crowd to call home, really.
Unfortunately, home wasn't the most comfortable place to be with the new (now soon to be defunct) design that came with V3, and a lot of people simply stopped coming, got locked out during transition, or moved on through 'natural' progression.
The 2old2playstation group was setup as an open portal to recruit, chat, be more social within the entire community, and bring over individuals to the locked down Resist group, for more privatized events and call outs. After a while, this progression simply died, because we lost control of the Resist group due to inactive members, administrators, etc.
I do think we could easily manage the transition, call outs, invites, and privatized gaming nights etc with other tools, and I think that's kinda where Doodi et al are driving us toward.
As it stands now, I don't bother coming around the forums that much. The less activity I saw from others, the less I wanted to bother even trying. I also stopped coming around when I noticed the overwhelming migration to content I wasn't interested in, rather than community. Suffice it to say, there are plenty of other content-centric sites out there from which to garner information. Discussion is now more global, with Twitter, FB, etc... which brings me to the point...
Google+, Hangouts, Twitter, Facebook are a few of the multitude of places we could create a new version of this sub-community. It would be infinitely easier to manage than it has been, buried deeply within the confines of the 2old2play interface.
I love the old Resist, but unfortunately...
I always liked how active Resist was in the past. I didn't have a PS3 at launch,but found a home with Resist when I did join the Playstation Nation. I would be up for anything to try and keep it going. I will check back and see what the plan may be.

I'll be damned if Resist is scattered to the wind without a fight! I don't know how, but we're going to make this work. It's important as well that we have a private clan to call home -- just for us PlayStation fans. We can tackle these issues, and others, once things settle down.
All of us together can figure this out, so please send me your ideas. At this vital time, a short note of support from our active (and formerly active) members would mean a lot. Let's hear from y'all!

Not a fan of what they are doing. I think getting rid of the Clan forums is the opposite of building community. You don't build community by destroying communities. As for Resist, I would love if it lived on. This was my first clan when i hopped into online mp for the first time with the PS3. I remember having a blast with Burnout Paradise. Met such cool people.

LOL...William's a trouble maker. Him and his XBox lovin' ways! :P He once was a staunch PS fanboy, but the pendulum has swung. We go way back, always friends. 'Cause it's about the games, not the system. :)

We really do need at least one generic Playstation forum here so there's a spot to go in the middle of all of the Xbox-specific forums.
If we can't get that, does thast mean we have to request a forum for each Playstation game we play to discuss it? If the game is multplatform, do we need to preface each title with something to denote it's PS content sand not Xbox?

Well first off, I am not overly impressed with the way clans are going bye bye; now don't get me wrong Doodi can do away with the 2old2Eh Clan that Jay-Cat created and asked me to be involved with; unfortunately I was never given Admin Rights and couldn't keep interest with it, so it's dead and buried as far as I'm concerned.
Now let's get to the issue of 2old2resist; a clan that I got more actively involved with, and enjoyed gaming with you knuckleheads; in fact I was able to do a clan war against a rival playstation clan, when we we're all playing Killzone 2; hell Racer told me that he didn't honestly think it would happen or that I could pull off such a feat, because there was bad blood with the other group; but hey it happened and I ended up making newer friends online, and isn't that the point of gaming, to have a good time, share a few laughs, and make friends!!!!
There were a few of us that kept a few games alive, when there seamed to be no interest at all; for instance there was a 2old2resist, MAG CLAN; in which there were a select dedicated few of us 2Old2Resist Clan Memebers, that kept it running, and when interest folded, I ended up shutting it down, only to get blasted for that stunt; and that's where the major problem resides with a clan, picking a game or games that people are actually going to participate and play with others online, then who's going to host, different time zones to content with, etc; and of course things happen in our daily lives, such as career change, health issues, etc, etc.
I still play with a great majority of you folks, if and when I have the bloody time; I just recovered from having both knees surgically repaired and undergoing a very rigorous physical rehabilitation, so I wasn't online that much; and now I'm preparing to return to St. Clair College and continue with my Respiratory Therapy Program on Sept 2nd. I will try to continue to support and even help out, keeping the ole 2Old2Resist Clan running, but more on a part-time basis this time around.
I don't know if a game like Destiny will bring back a huge influx of gamers??? and have us all playing again??? who knows, only time will tell???
I know I haven't been active very much in the clan the past couple of years (or active much in anything MP on PS), but I really hate to see this clan and others go. I'm also not in favor of this removal of clans. I feel like clans are being marginalized and blamed for what's happened to 2o2p, when in reality the site should have looked into what clans were still doing right, and return to that in the general population, like more site leaders being active within the site.
Oh, well...it is what it is, and hopefully the site can rebound with the 2o2p Network idea.

Well maybe we could get a facebook and twitter account going and invite people from there...it can be made private...plus im sure everyone has atleast one of those accounts....?

Good news, everybody! (in my best Professor Farnsworth voice). Doodi isn't going to make Resist a game-specific clan -- which wouldn't have worked for a clan that plays many exclusive titles. The clan will be open, but kept intact.
Biz created the Playstation open forum to show support for 2o2p's call for clans to be more active in open forums. It was a success, even though the number of new members at 2o2p has fallen over the years. Biznass is the main reason Resist is doing as well as it is.
Having a PS forum and an open clan for Resist isn't over the top, considering that 2o2p is 98% Xbox. At this time, keeping any PS forum active will be the biggest challenge, no matter where we move it.
We're open to suggestions. Is it worth moving Resist forward? Should we create an off-site private Resist clan? If so, which format should we consider? Facebook, G+.? Or a more simple approach, like Twitter, Group Me...etc.?
It's not a clan unless members support it. Staying active in Resist is extremely important for its survival. Even if you can't make game nights, you can always post, or comment in Resist. It's really up to all of you. Is Resist worth the effort? We can have a home to chat, set game nights, goof off, and most importantly have fun.

Well, we do have that Google+ group we were playing with but haven't used it much.
We're also on Twitter and could do a Facebook group if you really wanted to.
I asked Doodi to make Char poobah and told him, on behalf of Racer and I, to do whatever she wanted with the clan. I hope he listens to her, but it's his website and dunno what he will do.
That's good news Char! Now if only we can make you the Peach to this kingdom, it would be well deserved!
Great News, Char! I've been gone but this whole Resist possibly leaving thing has brought me back in. I promise to be a active member of the Resist Community from now on.

So...who all is getting Destiny? I have a feeling that's going to be my first double dip of the new gen.
played beta on ps4 and the graphics were gorgeous and gameplay was flawless as i could tell....definately will be a time sink.
Whats the twitter account name?....doesnt matter to me what we used...i have been away for awhile and when i got the news about 2o2p forums i came back......always been playing...just got lazy with the website visits.
fb, twitter, etc...would make it better to stay informed.....because we all have our cell phones within arms reach and probably stare at it 20 times a day or more (guility)......

This was added here because I wasn't sure where to roll it into. I wont be able to keep the 2old2resist name as it would be completely unfair to the other clans. I have it here as a temperary thing to see if you guys want me to roll it into Playstation. I still have a few cases like 2old4forza, this and 2old2race to edit.
I think if it has to get rolled in somewhere, the main Playstation forum should be fine.
Great. Who would like to be set up as leaders of the forum then? You'd have all the same abilities that you do here.
I think Char and Biznass should be good. Biznass is an admin of 2Old2Playstation now and I think Char might be an admin of 2Old2Resist.

My only concern with an off-site Resist chat account is that the Playstation Resist forum would suffer from meager posting. Let's face it, we won't post in an-off site account (say on Twitter) and then jump here to post the same thing. How do we have a private chat area and keep 2o2p-Resist/Playstation active?
Will all of us please give the new open Resist atmosphere a trail run? We now have a Playstation/Resist home here at 2o2p. It's our's to mold and grow as we see fit. Let's see what we can accomplish as an open clan. Then we can regroup to discuss how it's working and what needs to be addressed. Keeping Resist members intact and adding new members for the PS/Resist area at 2o2p should be our main goal.
I'm going to work to bring a few old Resist members back. (I still have most of them on my friend's list.)

I'm in for the trial run. I like the idea of a sencondary/companion chat app. A website is not all ways convenient to prompt response and keeps the conversation always at your fir tips with a smartphone.
