well thats another championship dead in the water. I guess 2o4f had a good run but its pretty much done now i think on forza 4, gone the same way as gt6, finally. Move along folks nothing to see here
I think there are several issues in play here, I refer to the euro room as i have no experience in the NA side of things.
1) new consoles have split a number of ppl away to forza 5 XBone/PS4 (despite it having no racing games!!), however i believe their numbers are pretty low in their rooms too, mebbe 6 or so, but thats 6 less in our race rooms. Max i think has gone solely to forza 5 and he did a lot of series, as did gizzie.
2) Its summer and people have better things to do!!
3) Natural wastage of the membership, and no new faces coming in to replace them that actually stick around. Mahjong is the last guy i recall joining who is actually still keen and participates in most if not all of our races.
4) The sheer age of forza 4. Have we seen/done it all? The lack of any other decent competition to it has meant a few simply get bored of the game, we havent tried to run series on any other game simply because there isnt one that can do what we need, although grid autosport may be close?.
Re upgrades, I too have no interest in the new consoles until such time as they sort the wheel compatability issues out, it is ridiculous that neither the XBone or the PS4 currently support Fanatec or Logitech wheels so the only option is to buy a wheel that costs as much as the console(yes, Thrustmaster I am talking to you lol). That puts it out of reach for many. I cannot justify that kinda expenditure on a toy! 7-800 pounds just to play forza 5/GT7/Project Cars? erm nah!
Hopefully sunday will continue to attract a decent number, but i fear any other day is going to struggle

Well put General. I think you absolutely nailed what is going on here, every point makes sense. I only dropped out of Sundays because of that one week Church and I got screwed because the lobby was actually full. That combined with summer made the decision easy for me as I’m still in summer mode.
I suspect(hope) Parcells will be back on Forza when 6 comes out. My Elite wheel is 2.5 years running with zero issues so I fear something bad is undoubtedly going to happen to my racing set-up and then I’ll have to decide what wheel to replace it with and therein lies the problem as you point out. In any case I hope and suspect to be back on Forza on or around when FM6 is released! I thought most(all?) Thrustmaster wheels work (or at a minimum the ONE supported by Microshit) on the PS3/PS4 like Fanatec wheels do even though they’re not officially supported???...was always thinking Thrustmaster would be the way I would go when the Elite gets replaced.
Also plan on hosting an FM4 production Lobby in October some weekend as a throwback to Parcells periodic hosting capabilities…Get ready for some Lotus and Opel awesomeness racing on predominantly non-GT6 tracks it will be some lots of fun!!!
Although I do think that any one of these games that currently have us divided can support what it is we need (which is hugely subjective in itself but there ya have it) it’s the fact that we are divided amongst consoles/games at the moment that is at the root of this seemingly dying of 2O4F. That said, GT6 is still providing some of us plenty of race options just not necessarily within the confides of 2O4F. My Thursday night’s regularly pulls in double digits attendance which is predominantly 2O4F members, albeit not very communicative members in the active sense of the word. And Grimm has been hosting an awesome series over at GTPlanet that has full rooms pretty much every week and the quality of racing is superb (just not 2O4F ).
What I’m saying is if everyone would come over(back) to GT6 we wouldn’t have these problems you speak of. It’s a simple solution really, disappointed I didn’t come up with this before.
I agree General and Parcells but I think we have enough people still stuck in Forza 4 mode to put together races. As I said, even with the loss of some racers we are still getting good turnouts on Sunday. I like to race twice a week if possible so I'm game for another Tuesday NA session too.
Sorry to hear the lobbies are not full guys. Just to let you know why i am not around these days. I have a job!! (Yes you heard it right) I am back driving trucks which involves nights away from home so i havnt touched Forza for 5 weeks now, hence why you have not seen me in the lobbies.
So now i can afford games but dont have time to play them. You may see me only on the occasional weekend.

The only thing with the gt6 lobbies is the fact they are obviously on a NA timezone and on a Saturday nite/sunday morn, which is no good for me lol. The euro side of gt6 fizzled out real quick, and even gtp cannot provide me a series to run in midweek like 2o4f used to do. Therefore my ps3 rig is quite underused. Was planning a fanatec upgrade as am fed up with having 2 different wheels for 2 consoles, however if there is no races, what is the point.....will prob do it anyways lol
@Parcells, SOrry for the unavailability to get into the room for the sunday races as i did mention at the start of the series i was only going to run one lobby as the group dies off as the series goes on. which inevitably it has as we are only running with 12 drivers MAX at the moment so if you were to split that with our room A and B drivers you are looking at about a 4-8 split. which no one wants and is what has happened in pretty much all other series where there have been two lobbies. It is a shame you've decided to leave for now.
I will not be hosting another Sunday series just yet as I am now getting to grips with Forza 5 and will hope to think of something for that in the near future.
What i would like to do though is continue racing on Forza 4 for the foreseeable as you have all said there is a divide in the ranks and i would really like to keep racing with you all. I have all three games (gt6 may have a considerable ammount of dust on it) but as general has said most if not all the series are US time and in the UK that doesnt help when 2am races are usually when people sleep.
I agree that there havent been enough new faces, there have been a few pop their heads in and dipped their toes in for a race or two but I agree i think Majong was the last to have stuck with it. Maybe we need to all get into the public lobies on all the games with massive advertising for 2O4F on our cars lol (oh gt6 cant do that lol) I know I will be spending a lot of time in the lobbies on FM5 until I get used to running with others again...

Is that why people are dropping out? We had good turnouts on Sunday's Forza 4 races. I have no plans to go Forza 5 in the near future.
