none of the current "X1" branded headphones that get their audio from the controller have talkback. Which means you can't hear yourself. Just FYI. This will not change as it's a hardware issue with the headphones not an adapter issue.
I'm using my Astro A50's which do have that and they work fine with the chat adapter.
So I received a replacement Sennheiser Game One headset and it works to perfection.. If you are willing to spend the hefty price tag for the Astro Mixamp Pro and a Sennheiser Game One headset you cannot go wrong! The surround is rather accurate although I still feel like just having a stereo headset is enough.
Gary with customer service sent me an email. He has been testing them more since he and I taked. Since Polk made their own controller adapter for the striker, they do have mic monitoring.
polk got permission from MS to maker the adapter that he says helps the 4shots and the strikers work better.
still a wait and see for me since I had to explain to him what mic monitoring is.
big plus to Polk's cust. Service tho, this guy is very nice and took the time to let me know about his testing!
So I tested the Mic on my Game Ones and guess what! It doesnt work, looks like I got a faulty headset! Lovely now I have to wait for a replacement!
I had sennheiser for PC back in my WoW days....they sounded great but could never get the mic to work right. Ended up using $30 plantronics.

That's encouraging Ded. I think Turtle Beach is working on a similar fix for their new headsets. I'm hoping their new adapter will work on my XO7 set.
