I don't know much about clans but I'd really like to play with some older people. Maybe on a regular basis? Any suggestions? Anyone wanna rock this Destiny thang?

Sadly no. I think the reason is really that they want communities to reamain to have identity outside of the bungie world. It does make tracking our clans almost impossible in game though. I almost feel like they spent way to much time on the web side of things and not nearly enough on clans inside the game.
Two achievments/trophies require you to complete Strike/Raid with a fireteam of ONLY Clan Members.
The clans may be helpful to those who worried about no-matchmaking in raids. Too gather a group of 5 reliable friends -that aren't jerks- together for an "hours" long raid effort, you'll need some way to pre-plan that stuff. I hope it works, I get quitters and afk's that have spoiled my Story/Raid missions with random players.
Once 6-man raids begin, there'll have to be a way (forum thread) to get enough players together who have what they need to get the achievos. I'd like to do a 3-man clan strike...

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this or not. My apologies if this isn't.
Joined the site sometime back, but it would seem I joined when the community was going through some changes and it didn't seem like an "activity" place at the time (got the emails outlining some of these details). Poking around the site this morning - primarily in the Destiny forums - looks like things are picking up again? I hope this is the case as I'm really digging the concept, goals, and diversity of this community.
To that end, now that Destiny is out (how awesome is this damn game?!) I'm optimistic that I can make some new online friends here and get this end game awesomeness started! I think it's safe to assume, that like most everyone else, my current focus is grinding to take on the Vault of Glass. I requested membership to the Bungie clan (XBOX, request is coming from X WA5TED X <- old GT from college days. Yes, it was "inspired" by the insane amounts of booze I could consume back then lol)
I'm currently a lvl 23 Hunter (hitting 25 today or losing my fingers to carpal tunnel trying ). Since launch all of my efforts have been PvE focused, but I'm about to start grinding through PvP for that awesome, awesome gear.

The bungie clan is alive and active. Make sure you join the bungie group first and then select the clan of your choice for either PS4 or Xbox One

Yup, I like the nameplate text but Bungie has to offer more or I'll not use their site often.
At least this website is getting free advertising and that is a good thing.
It's like Clans are being 'used' superficially. Otherwise, why did they call them Clans?
Maybe Bungie has more planned but not ready to announce features for Clans.

You'll need to grind PvP for Crucible marks to purchase gear from vendors.
