My preferences...
1. I'm flexible but I think eight events would be good.
2. My preference would be an hour long race with one pit stop.
3. I don't care. If there are no handicaps then maybe we could have two driver divisions (fast guys and not-as-fast guys). There would be an overall championship and the two division championships.
4. Don't have anything to list at the moment except have the series finale be at the Nordschleife, maybe a 90 minute double points race. Maybe everyone could list a track or two and the popular tracks get on the list.
5. I hope Parcells participates.
1. 8 weeks sounds good however will there be a gap week for the FM5 V8 Endurance race?
2. I quite like the idea of 1 race with one mandatory Pit
3. As the cars are stock to start with i think there may need to be some other way than nerfing power off the fast guys, an extra pit limited to 4 max (Including mandatory) like the GT2 cup, or we could develop the roll off delay we had last night which i think worked fairly well. or if power handicap is the way its back to 5, 10 and 15% instead.
4. I like the ring being last. maybe have in one from each country in game so one US, Spain, UK, Switzerland, Japan, etc
5. will there be chocolate biscuits? :P
At the Leon series I also used a stock kar exept the break,s.
At the last race there was some conversation about Tire presure.
I realised I never looked at that, and nower it was band to change that.
I don't think that would make 5 seconds a round disapear at le mans but I felt a litle stupid not to think of that.
The test race with the Exige indicated a very louse back.
No tuning allowed also include's the tire preasure is this correct.
I would prefer 2 1/2 hour races. A ptt stop is nice. If you make a mistake in the first race you have a chance to start fresh again.
I haven't driven the Lotus Exige without a tune yet. But if it is deemed to much a handful we could use the Forza 4 Auto tune/build for A600 and test that if we want a standard.
The Nurburgring GP full is a great track for the Lotus Exige. I'll suggest that for next week if that is acceptable.
I drove a few laps with the quick upgrade to A600 and I think it's easier to drive stock.
(The 2-eleven is even easier.)
HaHa, Doesn't say much for the Forza tune! Yes this week should definitely be shake down so everyone can get used to the cars. I'm happy with any car that is easier to drive so if we want the 2-eleven no problem. Perhaps this Sunday we can try both.
How about this format for the races? 3 x 20 minute. All three random starts.
First race, one pit stop and no handicaps each week. Second race top 3 racers from race 1 get an extra pit stop. Third race top 6 racers from the combined first two races get a 5% handicap and no pit stops for anyone. Each week starts fresh.
YES! Sounds fun and I am in!!!!!
If we are allowed to change tire pressure youll'd want it at 32-33 psi or 2.20-2.27 bar in metric money when they are at runing temperature. There is no specific reason for that value other than it's what works best in FM4.
Stock Exige, Parcells will definitely be participating. However the weekends of Sept. 28 & Oct 5 are out for me as I'll be Florida so depending on when this starts I may miss one or two weeks, no biggie.
Parcells is on board with the majority but that said my preferences include 2 x 30 minute or even 3 x 20 minute races vs. longer races as it does give you another chance if you screw up plus 20 minutes is enough to determine the faster racers 95%+ of the time.
Handicaps....who needs them? No one. Norschleiffe track is beautiful to drive on but terrible for racing.
3x20 min races- I likey.
If we do something with these cars this Sunday, let's consider it a shakedown while we iron out the details of the series. Sound good?
Well BOTH of the padle shifters on my Fanatec have cracks in them , I'll see if I can somehow fix them or completely disable them and use the sequential shifter.
I'm in for this, 3x randomised races sounds interesting. Not sure if I'll be here this Sunday though.
Fun test driving while it lasted yesterday. The Lotus Exige and Lotus Eleven are a tad of a handful after driving the SEAT series but especially the Eleven was fun to drive with the wind blowing through your hair. Unfortunately my connection dropped me out of the race and I couldn't get back in. It may have been the severe thunderstorm that blew in as it happened.
Looking for feedback on the cars. Is this the direction we want to go?
was a fun evening definately like both cars now we just need a set of tracks :)
I'm OK with either car.
Regarding handicaps, I say keep it simple, either no handicaps or just use roll-off delays. They would have to be carefully set. The fast guys should be able to catch us mortals by the end.
Some tracks: Road Atlanta, Sunset Full (or reverse whichever), Camino Viejo Extreme.
Parcells is on board with whatever you decide but still prefer the Exige over the 11...what about a half/half series with each car???
Willl be in Florida the next two weekends so will join when I come back.
As far as tracks go my only true desire is to run Mugello full and after that any non-GT6 track so the original Silverstone would be awesome too followed by Road America and Atlanta, Sunset full sounds good too.
If anyone gives you guys a hard time about any of this you tell them to go fuck themselves!
Go fuck yourself, Parcells! (Just kidding.) How about this?
Lotus Exige Cup at these tracks:
1. Tsukuba or Twin Ring Motegi
2. Camino Viejo Extreme
3. Nurburgring GP
4. Mugello Full
5. Silverstone GP
6. Road Atlanta
7. Sunset Full
8. Road America
I like :) - I'd rather twin ring than Tsukuba though.
I have to say I enjoyed the 11 more but I'll go along with either car.
As far as tracks go I was hoping to break it up a bit by alternating short and long courses for example:
1. Tsukuba
2. Camino Viejo Extreme
3. Mazda Laguna Seca
4. Mugello Full
5. Sebring Club Circuit
6. Road Atlanta
7. Iberian Short
8. Sunset Full
Back in buisness! Fanatec fixed, track list looks good. It's been a long time since I've driven Sunset.
I'll join in when I'm around
So are people interested in alternating short and long tracks or just long tracks?
I'm OK with your list.
Lap counts for about twenty minutes of racing.
1. Tsukuba - 18
2. Camino Viejo Extreme - 6
3. Mazda Laguna Seca - 12
4. Mugello Full - 9
5. Sebring Club Circuit - 16
6. Road Atlanta - 12
7. Iberian Short - 24
8. Sunset Full - 11
looks like this is going to be a fun 8 weeks. will there be a break though for the 5th October for the FM5 endurance race?
I hope so.
I will Join the FM5 endurance on the 5th and join this series on the other race day's.
Martin.
We can certainly take a break from the "official" series that week.
In the meantime, are we up for an official start this Sunday at Tsukuba?
Im good with this need to get me car painted though lol
