Patrols are free-roam missions, select them (the arrow-looking icon) on the destination map for each planet, then go seek out the blinking green lights to get the individual missions.

Save all those items you find, such as Spinmetal, Relic Iron, Spirit Bloom, and Helium. You'll need them to upgrade your Legendary and Exotic equipment. Grimoire cards give you background of the game, especially the ones from dead Ghosts.

Do all the bounties you can. When your Vanguard rank is 2 you can buy legendary armour and when it is 3 you can buy legendary weapons. I think every level after that including 3 they give you a legendary. Add me if you want I.m on a lot.

Okay what are Grimoire cards and why would they make me happy?
Grimoire cards drive you to Bungies website to read boring stuff. I suggest you just have some fun playing the game until you hit level 20.

Question what are patrols? I have a bounty for 6 patrols in russia.

Question: How will I know when a public event is starting and being only lvl 7 can I partake in said fun? Granted I wont score well but want to play.
You can partake whatever level you are.
You will know when the sky darrkens and Dicklebot will make a comment. At that point, follow the icon to the place and start shooting!!!
