New Planets

If you look at your Grimoire cards then places, you will see  Mercury, Saturn, and Jupitar. Each are probably going to be the DLCs.

Must..resist...Uranus joke. Looking forward to these new planets. More content! Since the whole thing is about manifest destiny, I suppose sequals will be expanding into the Galaxy? Running out of planets. Do you think Pluto or the asteroid belt might get a nod?

The astroid belt will happen since there are 2 character cards for that area that are not unlocked yet.

If you play Rumble in the Crucible, you get to go to Mercury. I've played a grand total of one game of Rumble and it was on this small FFA map. smiley

I've been avoiding the Crucibile. Burned out on PvP and the time I played in the Beta in the Iron Banner really made me not want to play it. One of these days I might try it out again.

I wonder if they will have us walking on Jupiter or Saturn, neither have a surface to stand on. Both are GAS giants!

I remember hearing Saturn, Europa and Titan were going to be playable at some point. The Traveler could have easily given them solid surfaces if you think about it.

Gas giants may have solid cores.  Some think it's actually a requirement for a gas giant to form.  Considering the technology situation in the game, it's certainly believable that technology to navigate within gas giants exists.

Considering the context of the game I could see us playing within the atmospher of Jupiter. If Bungie plans to be somewhat realistic I could see us being on a high orbit station. Think Lando's gas mining station from Star Wars. I think that would make for an interesting gameplay as well.

I did have a bit of a chuckle the first time I landed on Venus. Just landing on Venus at all was kind of amusing, but when I saw the ruins of a city I had to shake my head a little. Due to the runaway greenhouse effect the atmospheric pressure on Venus will crush you to the ground. I know some will say "Terraforming" but thats a means of adding greenhouse gases to a planets atmospher ( think Mars) to try and take it away is something else, look at the problem we face on our planet today.

I know we should suspend disbelief when playing games, watching movies etc. It still makes for an interesting debate.

so far i heard that Saturn is one of the next DLC planets but I think there will be more to do with the awoken and the asteroid belt since you really only got introduced to them in the story. But yea the story also talks about Mercury so you figure that is one of the next ones as well. And there is a rumor going around that you get to kill that jerk of a dude from the awoken later in the DLC but I guess we will find out when it comes out (Anybody else feel like he should be killed too?)

We are talking about a game we play as a someone that has been dead for god knows how long that was resurrected by a floating ball of light that sounds like Tyrion Lannister reciting the enitre lineage of the Kings of Westeros, yet still has to shoot bullets.  I think it's safe to suspend disbelief in this environment.

The Sci-Fi novel 2312 describes a plausible, if extremely labor intensive, method of terraforming Venus: http://www.amazon.com/2312-Kim-Stanley-Robinson/dp/0316098124 (also on Kindle)
