I've been riding the fence for a long time on this. Loved the beta, but really seeing a lot of review chatter about how its gets stale in the higher levels. Would you say this is true?
For me the game is a very thin but satisfying experience. Mainly on teh strengths of the combat and visuals. That being said after reaching 20 your level is no longer defined by exp but by armor which can be received through drops, faction purchases or rewards and crucible pvp. Some people on my friends list have progressed incredibly quickly. For myself who has yet to get one legendary drop and has not reached the faction points to purchase a legendary or exotic it can be pretty frustrating. Once again your milage may very depending on how lucky or dedicated you are to farming and grinding. That being said I still enjoy my time with it and feel free to add me on PSN Mr402 is my tag.

Thanks for the perspective.
If you are undergeared compared to people you play with (either regularly or in random games), either because of bad luck, slower progression, etc. how is that accounted for? Are you as a player limited to which events you can participate in?
I'm comparing this to typical MMO paradigm, but maybe that's the wrong thing to compare it to.
I loved the combat and the visuals. But I didn't play the beta as much as some people did, and I didn't really get as deep as I probably could have. I never qualified for Crucible, but I completed one of the early raid-type encounters (I forget which one) and I was irked by the fact that people were quitting because we got hung up on one part where we had to defend something, I forget what. I was undergeared I'm sure, and if it means having to deal with quitters then I don't know how much I'd like it.
Yeah it is a bit of a grind once you hit level20 but, I kind of like it.
When i started out I was playing with a friend who was a level24 and he joined me through the whole story mode. We played every level on the hardest mode and it was challenging but, a lot of fun. I was still able to get plenty of kills and the hard mode also gives the additional xp.
as far as people dropping out goes, yeah it happens. That's why I'm looking for more people to game with. It would be nice to run with a solid team that wants to consistantly finish strike missions and so on.
Honestly, I was hoping for more out of the story mode but i'm still havinf fun with the game. Haven't touched the Crucible yet. Pvp gets on my nerves anymore lol
Codemunkee, you could always rent it and let me know if you want to give it a go.
Sounds good, thanks. I'll probably grab this during the weekend. I have to get through some work stuff this week before I can really sink my teeth into it this weekend.
Seeing you guys in other threads talk about the terrible, unfair drop rates, people with crappy KDRs (I would be in that group lol), my overall time to play (saw somone here say they spent 82 hours in game and no high end drop - I cant remember spending 82 hours in any game in the last year) and random game quitters makes me think its really not for me, as much as I want it to be. I dont need the aggravation lol - I dealt with all that in my WoW days and TBH I dont feel like going back. That's just me though.
I think I'll get my shooter fix off of BL2 for now. And Evil Within is coming next week and I really hope that gets a solid review because I see myself playing the crap out of that.
I saw you posted there and I have it for both consoles so I'll add you there.
