Purple Engram WTF
Okay I'm lvl 23 and have yet to even SEE a purple Engram drop. The only reason I have a purple is because Rahool was cool enough to flip a blue for me. I've done nothing but grind since hitting lvl 20 and nothing. Spent two hours tonight grinding on Mars where the Vex and Cabal meet and filled my inventory,only got three blues,the rest was green. Is BS...starting to get bored with this game.
If you're bored, I suggest doing other things besides sitting in one spot killing the same enemies over and over hoping for an engram drop.
And don't feel bad, I'm a level 29 and I can count on one hand how many purple drops I've gotten. Just about all my purple gear was bought/found in the raid
The purple engram drop rate seems to be even worse than before the patch - probably due to the fact that now they are guaranteed legendary gear or crafting materials.
I found probably 10 prior to the patch and last night was my first post-patch drop in a strike (and it turned into a shard).
We all feel the same frustration with the lack of drops.
I like how we're getting daily updates from Zombie about this game. I expect to see a "Just pressed the A button" thread pop up tomorrow.
All drops are completely random. Kill things as you're going around and things will eventually drop.
Got a purple engram last night while doing a daily story mission solo. Was into a big fight right at the beginning where dozens of enemies were killed when the engram dropped.It seems the better engram drops appear when something significant happens. Or, maybe it's just that there's a lot going on, which increases the odds. The engram turned out to be a loser, but... I've been pretty lucky overall with getting a fair number of them. Anytime you can play with friends, you're doing just fine. Pay no attention to the noise coming from the sidelines. Press "A" to mute.
Read my mind. I dont see much action going on anywhere else in these forums. This place is a tomb compared to when I joined nearly ten years ago.
Back on topic,I've been doing strikes alot but still not seeing any decent drops. Are Raids any better?
I don't know... The randomness of it all seems so random... The way I see it, you just do what you like to do, and you'll eventually be rewarded. For me, I do patrol mission, daily/weekly activities, Queen's missions, and as many strikes as I can muster - all to get Vanguard marks, experience and other goodies. I let the randomness happen.. well, randomly.
Just buy the gear. Then you can complain about exotics and how you can't find 5 other people to raid, and do daily and weekly's with
I hear ya though. I'm having a hard time trying to find a game to play on my XBone. It may get traded when I go get my $38.50 for the Destiny I fulfilled very quickly. 10 year game my ass. I have 7 360 games I haven't played yet because I got sucked into Titanfall's awesomeness. If I could fold proteins on the Xbone I'd donate it to science. Fact is it's underpowered hardware with a super sluggish unintuitive interface that lacks basic features like sorting. What good is a controller when the GUI is unresponsive?
At least you don't need anal lube when you go to the Cryptarch like many of us did pre-patch.
really? because I have way too many. Shadows of Morder, Alien - and soon Sunset Overdrive, Halo. And previous games from the spring like Thief, and the new maps on Titanfall. Wolfenstein for sure. Forza Horizon 2 just came out, which I probably won't get because it's not my style, but I hear it's great. The Evil Within looks good. The sherlock holmes game that came out has some good reviews. D4, Fibbage, and of course Diablo III.
Seems like there are tons of games out there to play right now. Too many, really.
Buying it is what I'm working on,or eaning it anyway. Half a lvl away from Vangaurd 2,I want the Eclipse Maw Warlock chest. Watch an Engram drop after I get it!
Ever notice shitloads of engrams drop when you first start playing each day, and then nadda rest of the day?
Just got Doctor Nope from a Purple Engram. Woah!
All my primaries are now Legendary or Exotic.
Dr Nope settles down into a nice AR as you upgrade it. Hated it until upgraded. If the expannsions look good and I come back to the game, I'll have some nice gear to play with.
Yeah I looked through all the games currently out and nothing interests me. Well.. nothing I want to pay for and then trade in a week when Sunset Overdrive(decided to re-preorder and try it) comes out.
I think I'm done with Destiny mostly, besides maybe doing the dailies for some shards. I'm ready to play something else, and I have a ton to work on.
I hear ya. I decided I will level up my raid armor, which will take another 35 shards, playing new content if I come back to the game. I traded it in for $38.50. No sense losing that trade value letting it sit unplayed for months.
yeah I don't buy discs anymore. So, I paid $60 and I'm ok wth that. So far I've gotten over 85 hours of gaming out of it. If you compare that to a $12 movie for 2 hours, that's about 10 hours of enjoyment. I came out on top.
Ditto. Still a great entertainment value if you purchased a digital copy. Exactly how i think of it too.
Got two Purple Engrams in the same day.
I've gotten pretty much all my purple weapons from VoG. The rest were just random awards/drops.
