no, not the nightfall (although I still want to do that), this is the last step in the Thorn exotic bounty. I won't even be home at 6:15 though...
Sounds like you are doing the Thorn bounty. I actually just started this bounty last night. I've completed the first two stages and am about to start the Crucible part. We'll see how that goes.

I solo'd this but it is a bitch. Basically use the same strat as nightfall. Stay in shrieker room and fall back when necessary. Don't shoot at phogoth and kill adds that come in the door. Eventually Xyor will show up. Gets harder withore people as the damage is multiplied. Good luck

Well, if I could get through the Sword of Crota room with all those witches, I could execute this solo. Actually got as far as the last wave in that room but just got overwhelmed over and over again.
i know it will be harder but it will be fun to do with a team.

I'm about halfway on the crucible kills. Once complete I'd be down. Gonna try and hammer those out tonight if possible so may be down tomorrow day/evening if you don't get it done.
I gave soloing it a try...the door where your ghost has to unlock the three tryptichs <sp?> was the biggest pain. Once I got to Phogoth though I tried that room trick but it doesn't work. I killed all of wave one but the only other mobs that spawn after is the one shrieker followed up by two of the Wizards/witches over and over and over. Probably cleared 10-12 waves of it before giving up. Wonder if they patched you from sitting in the outside room...looks like I'll still need this.

i think if we have three, one stays back in the safe room and two go battle everything in the main room, and rotate one at a time out of the safe room?
I just completed it solo. Went with solar primary scout rifle and arc secondary fusion and solar special machine gun. Was much easier this time. There are some kiting tricks that i found useful. Mostly, go slow. Use the long downstairs hallway to retreat to on the doorway portion. Once you get to Phogoth, go slow. Stay in the outer two rooms. Just hide for a second in the second room when the shrieker and the two wizards spawn. As a general rule, if the Wizards don't despawn quickly they are the 'real' ones you have to kill. They show up for about 15-20 seconds and then despawn so you don't even have to try and kill the others. You'll have to step out occasionally to entice the mobs to follow you in. Go slow, run back in if it even remotely looks hairy. Only had one death this time.
Sad thing, I don't even really like hand cannons so who knows whether I'll actually use it but at least that annoying shit is out of my bounty log. Also, at least I know how to fairly easily solo the weekly when it's phogoth :)
Maybe easier because you where alone, when you are 2 players the wizards and all increase 2 times and more, and with a 3rd player even more.
I saw my son take down Phogoth withing 1 min with an exoctic Magin gun when I was in the game with him, I still have to go upstairs and find out which one it is,...

Yeah definitely heard its easier. i have no basis for comparison though since I never did it with a group.

I died on the Pike but easily finished him off alone.

Go to the Anchor of Light and wait. Sooner or later someone (usually a low level player) will come along in their mission and have to get off a Pike to complete their task.
Steal it. They won't need it anymore, or so I'm told. Go back and complete your mission.

Completed the bounty with CarbonChemist and it wasn't too bad actually. At my level of skill (i.e. limited), having someone there to revive me made all the difference.
