Seems like 3 of those hours were spent on  a certain section where ... actually, I don't want to talk about it smiley (except to thank everyone for their patience)

30 minutes tops. wink

Pretty sure we were in the Raid about 2 hours total. Of course, a lot of that was listening to our new (unpaid) mentor.

(beating DEEP to it): we stopped after completing the jump puzzle. I believe we're at the same exact point where I joined the final section of your raid last week, Chaos.

If it took all of you 2 hrs to get from LvL 1 to the begining of Level 5, that is good timing, but that's really all you have to do to pick up all the important chest that are really worth it, just last night from Lvl 2 to begining of Lvl 5 we each got about 11 chards and I got 1 exotic Handgun, and one legendary sniper for Void,... a good night it was.

Looks like he has the Last Word this week.  Figures, I got 2 to drop in teh Vault in the past week already.  The rest is the same chest pieces he's had for weeks.

Same problem! How tough can it be to get just one Strange Coin? Since I won Universal Remote in the Raid, decided to count my virtual blessings and bought Armamentarium instead.

Well, as it turns out I am glad I had those coins. I prefer to use a scout rifle so the mida multi tool is on my shopping list.

So, I didn't get the Mida Multi-Tool, and that's because I want to eventually get the Vision of Confluence from the vault.  Its better in practically every way, unless you want to be more agile and run around faster with a scout rifle, I'm not sure how you could go Multi Tool.

Well, you know, unless you want to catch them all.

Key word here being "eventually". Sure, I will go with VoC too - eventually. Eventually I will get something out of the Vault of Glass besides shards... Until it drops for me somewhere I'm gonna go with the guns I can get my mitts on.

Only things I haven't pulled from the Vault: a chestplate, the Mythoclast, Vision Of Confluence, Praetorian Foil.

I bought The Last Word last week. Since playing a few games in Iron Banner, I think it'll be a good gun there. Seems I get one-two-shotted all the time from some wonder gun even when I have full health. I rarely have enough time to close the deal using an AR or Scout before the jackrabbit gets around a corner.  The TLW deals a lot more damage per shot and it can really pump the lead out, and it looks so cool doing it....I nearly have it leveled up... :)

Saw on a t-shirt... "We don't grow older, we just level up..."

The fusion rifle one shot death baffles me.  I get one hit by them all the time.  So I tried the cant beat em join em and have never one shotted anyone with full health with my fusion rifle!  User error not fully damaged leveled up, idk.  I was 2 coins shy of last word it does look super cool I was watching my son use it last night playing IB.

There are a couple of Fusion Rifles that seem to be better at the one-shot. I have the Plan C and it's beastly with almost maxed out Impact and decent Range. I had it awarded to me at the end of a Tiger strike - my first and only exotic drop - all of my other exotics have come from Xur or bounties.

I am on the last stage of the pocket infinity bounty.  Progress is slow I think 4 out of 200 right now!  Anyone know if that is a good one?

As far as I am concerned, the Pocket Infinity is the best pvp gun in the game, bar none (Although Suros or Invective or Stranger's Rifle are close seconds).  Out in the open I use a Pulse or AR, but on a small to mid size map, I literally use nothing else.  I use it over Suros, Invective, Comedian, Raid Scout rifle, Bad Juju, everything.  The quest is easy to complete too.  Just go into the Nightfall and go as far as you can solo.  Then when you die, start over.  Took me one evening.  The only drawback of PI is that it is the slowest charging fusion rifle and you only get one burst before you have to reload.  You can kill 2-3 people with that one burst, but you better take cover after that.  It almost requires armor that buffs special reload speed.  Once you get used to the charge time, its absolutely beastly.  If you look at my feed, I put a few videos up of the pocket infinity in 30 second clips.  I think there is a pve clip too.

Other fusion rifles one shot people too.  Just depends on how many times your bullets hit them.  Its essentially a mid-range shotgun.  Ceter mass = one hit kill.  Miss one or two pellets/bullets, its not and then you are hosed.  Its why the Pocket Infinity is so good.  Its almost impossible to miss because it spits them all out at once.  I use Light/Beware on my other character sometimes, but I like Invective over it.  Final Rest II (drop) is also a great purple fusion rifle.  It has an extremely fast charge time.  There are also some blue crucible drops (Acid Angel and Painted Helios come to mind, though there are others) that are fantastic - outside of Iron Banner of course.

I just finished the Pocket Infinity bounty last week. One tip for completing the bounty to get your kills: Just load up the Nightfall but do NOT do the Nightfall strike. Instead, go to any other story location and get your kills. If you die in these locations, you will not be returned to orbit, so it's a little faster.

You'll know you are in a story location when you see Level 28 enemies. An example of a story location would be the Ishtar Academy on Venus (where you first meet the Stranger) or the room on Earth where you kill the first Archon dude. You'll want to look for the story locations that activate the Darkness Zone, but again do not go into the Nightfall strike area to avoid going to orbit when you die.

Good idea.  I've had this for a couple weeks and only pulled out 60 of the kills so far.  Was hoping they'd put up a solar burn on the nightfalls since I only have a solar fusion rifle to use.  Not a big fan of fusions.

Grab all void weapons and then solo until you die.  Rinse and repeat.  I'll bet you get it in two goes on the Summoning Pits.

Any tips on the Dismantling 10 rare or higher fusion rifles part? I've dismantled the four I had stored in my vault. I also know to check the gunsmith's stock or to try my odds with a purchased engram from the Cryptarch. Anything else?

No real tips here. I had been stockpiling rare fusion rifles since learning they would be needed when I finally got the bounty. I may have bought one or two from the vendor, but they aren't cheap. By the time I actually had the bounty drop for me, I had the 10 fusion rifles ready to go in my vault.

You'll also have a good chance at getting blue drops in the Tiger Strike playlist, so you could try just running a bunch of those in hopes of blue engrams.

I tried that last night the hive and fallen around the area were only level 8. The first room and the 1st wave over and over again got me to 130 last night. Almost done

Picked up the Mida Multi-tool. Eh, it might be okay after I rank it up.

I like the explosive head shots of my current Scout Rifle.

I got the Comedian again from an engram. Had the full-auto option too. Ranked it up a bit then sharded it. I don't like Destiny's shotguns.

Mida enabled me to take down Cabal and Vex Targets in public events that my more powerful scout rifle wouldn't. I'm pretty sure it was the higher rate of fire. So I'm keeping it until it is powered up. The weak sound it makes, exudes impotence. I wish it had a more solid 'Ka Chunk!'

I've got a couple of MIDA scouts that need to be ranked up, but my current preferred Scout is the fully upgraded "Crypt Dweller". It has a much faster rate of fire than the other Scouts, a 27 round mag and has explosive head shots. The Last Word's high rate of fire is a biggie for a hand cannon. The 8-shot mag is enough for  the crucible because the time on target is so limited. The 8-shot mag is a little short for PvE, though I use it quite a bit anyway just to get better with it.

Thom... you say the Stranger's rifle works in the crucible? I kept them, but don't use them - they are weak for PvE. Did Bungie tweak the stats for PVP?

I have a fully upgraded Red Death exotic pulse rifle, but don't use it much, and never have in the crucible. Someday maybe. It's a cool gun...

I dislike using fusion rifles, and have discarded a couple Pocket Infinity bounties. I do have a couple legendary fusion rifles, but almost never use them.

Rockets are the only 1sk guns I've used in PvP - other than my hunter's golden gun super yesterday in the IB. I got one kill with it....
