I think these Knights are spawning on all of the planets. I've seen them on Earth and the Moon and expect they are spawning on the other planets as well. Kind of a lead-up to next week's expansion.
Grabbed the Sword of Crota last night and proceeded to take a walker out during a public event. I thought it would step on me or something but it didn't. Had a couple other people helping, wondered if I would have had the time to take it out if I was all alone.

I did the samething the other night i was crazy fun. Also the sword kills count as melee kills so if you have the bounty for 30 kills it can help very quickly.

Probably just Earth and the Moon as they are the only two planets you encounter the Hive on.
