Got this last week, I`m impressed so far. Just trying to make enough cash so I can buy the Hauler, so I can make some real money then (I hope). It`s not easy trying to trade with a four ton capacity Sidewinder, so doing the delivery missions for now.
Yes we are playing it. Poidsly plays it hard, I am kinda in spurts. Ya a hauler is way better then a sindwinder, but as soon as you can afford an adder (if you wanna haul any amount of real cargo) ditch the hauls. The adder is a great ship for the price. It has three weapon slots one of which is a class 2, combined with its manueverability you can pick up bounties effortlessly as well as haul those 32 cans of cargo. Actually it can haul over 40 depending on set up. I had mine done up for lightweight low power consumption so i could be a shaddy smuggler/bountyhunter/spacetrucker. The next ship after that would be a cobra.
So I`m taking a break from trading at the moment. Started bounty hunting in a viper, got 2 pulse lasers (for taking out shields) and 2 multicannons (for the hull), got one of those scanners to tell you if someone is wanted in different systems, but I dunno how to use it. LOL. Doing the missions where you have to kill so many pirates in a system, the pay-off might not look great at first, but when you put that payment + all the bounties from killing pirates together its actually a good way to make credits. Killed one dude lastnight in a Federal Dropship worth nearly 60,000. Just barely made it back to a platform after, I was running on the life support with 2 minutes left. Fixed the ship got back out there killed 3 more pirates for mission completion. got around 120,000 for that mission alone. Then spent it all on upgrades.
Once I figure out how to record gameplay, I`ll put up a video or two, if something interesting happens.
Back from throwing myself down snow covered mountains ;) Managed to get in another 8 hour trip into the black. Another 1 mil trip. Love it, really do but it i have hung up my walking boots for a bit and back to space trukkin as I need cash quickly and there is no way I'm part exchanging "The Fair Winds". Have another plan - outright purchase - its time for the T7, then a Python. Now the python is a killing machine.
Have to say again though, fully upgraded asp, c2 beams for shield stripping and quad c1 multi cannons to peel open that tin can.....ohhhhhh baby, its going to hurt.
Have switched to open play too. Constantly looking behind me for PK's. Nice and tense.
Now, if you wanted I would be happy to arrange a friendly transfer of cargo sometime if you need it.

I did see a neb commander trying to dock one time. seemed like he was unsure of what he was doing. So i went and flew under his ship. between it and the docking pad. Lol ya.....

Question: How can you tell NPC`s from Real players? Are they a different colour on the mini-map?

People are tired of the same, games (namely FPS after FPS), The site was built on those though. namely on xbox. people are tired of those games and more are looking at sony and pc's. I know i have switched to PC, thankyou steam. perhaps they cant make the switch in their minds that 2o2p can do that to if they let it. Maybe they can only see it as the place they played Halo and cod and WoW.
Maybe the place needs a new name. Change its identity so people dont associate it with the old. Something that embraces the new. Who knows?

Crap. Now entered the trukkin treadmill of doom. Bought the T7 at Founders World - 10% discount. Parked the asp (she's worth about 34mil but [RP on] no one is having her [RP off])
My god the T7 is a dog. Swamp pig. Hit every branch of the ugly tree and landed in a pack hyaenas. Handles like a beached whale. It does however pack in 200t of cargo and still has a shield to resist the repeated face plants I am performing on the letterbox. Did one in front of another commander earlier. Very embarrassing.
So - T7 is worth about 18mil. Now have 7mil cash. Leaves me about 26 mil short of the python at Founders.
Add 5 mil insurance. Another 5 mil for some basic upgrades. Another 2mil trading fund.
I can afford a type6. I wanna make one long haul jump with xihe rare goods with my cobra first so i can purchas the t6 and still purchase upgrades as well as cargo for more long hals of rares.
18mil for a t7 eh. hope that wont be too hard to scrounge up once i buy a t6.
sorry poiidsly for not returning your mssgs in game. Just did a wipe on the pc and had to reprogram my gamepad for the game. Was deep into it and did not notice the messages till you were gone.

The Python is a powerful beast. Not agile but you can pack it with firepower and great shields. So far no PC has attempted to interdict. They tend to run whenever I jump into a system. I'm not even interested in PK'ing ;)
Anyway, if you need a hand up the offer stands. Recently helped another cmdr with about 1\2 mil cargo.

Plan yourself a route to fill your hold. Have a look at the volumes and Max spawn allocation for the rare on the second link. Sell at least 120ly from source to Max profits.
Many rares are illegal in some systems. Be sure to factor that in.
I find the travel quite good fun and if you can afford an advanced scanner, you will make useful cash from that too.
Just a brief update.
Powerplay...a strategic type of sub game released and into its 5th week.
Not for everyone, and it is entirely optional. For me though....great fun and has really increased the risks of losing ships. PvP far more likely. Player interaction goes through the roof if you want it to do so.

You need enough for the upgraded cargo racks and a decent fsd.
Oh, and insurance. For the love of all that's precious, insurance.
A good one way normal trade run will bring in 100k. If you are really lucky a one way door to door can be as little as 6 mins.
Update: Off treadmill. Realised its sucking me in.
Moved to open. Doing a bit of everything, including, as of last nigh lots of pew pew.
Also a very tense run into Lave with 16+ PC's.
