Arrow, from the beginnings has an interesting backstory/history. If you're privy to DC's history they have an interesting way of flirting with precedent and then blurring the past on the show. It's all in there , but all a little "different". I like it. Probably one of my favorites. Great character writing.
+1 Deep, I love gotham, it has yet to turn stupid. Let's see I love my Supernatural Soap opera, Grimm got its groove back after a horrible season last year, i don't know why I keep watching Family Guy probably because it's a horrible accident and I just can't look away, Bob's Burgers is amusing, I like Blackish, Master Chef Junior, Happy about the ending of top chef boston; TWD FTW!...
Anyways Happy 5,000 posts!
I got all angry at Destiny last night I get so sick of how clicky my clan has gotten with Destiny Raids, well more fusterating...even more frusterating than trying to under stand Deep when he's talking all metric on me, I mean who knows what a kilometer is anyways?
I find Destiny a great social game but it's also limiting in that they make the raids just tough enough to make it exclusive, I appreciate the challenge but it's creating a divide in my clan. What frusterates me is when people starting communicating outside our clan forums to coordinate get togethers, I thought the whole point of having our own clan website and forums was so we could game together. When people do stuff on their own it seems like just want to game will a select group, and I've just started to feel more and more left out. I guess this happens with gaming groups, not to be cliche but a group stays together if it games together. Since we aren't really gaming together, things are becoming more exclusive and less social.
And apparently if I post my opinion, I'm a complainer and people get all huffy. Rather than working on improvements, it seems they just want to ignore the issues. I enjoy this thread cause I can post and not feel like I am going to be judged for my opinion, because my clan mates who don't have my experience seem to be unwilling to meet me halfway, well they did for one week....I guess I should thank them for trying.

Clans, ugh.
They can be so good but then they can also be so unpleasant. Members expectations vary wildly.
I was a clan insider and now I'm an outsider. Does that make me inside out? I still have lots of friends to play with but sometimes I know I don't quite fit in.
If a clan controls you or if you want to control a clan, something has to give. I always recommend dumping the clan in the short term. If the clan is understanding then you should be able to come and go as you please.
That is impressive longevity for a thread that derailed somewhere around the 12th post. I feel that I should say something official to commerate this auspicious and unprecedented event, but the fact that I have personally tried to kill this thread more than once would likely compromise my credibility and perceived sincerity. The goodnight thread is like a voracious parasite that has somehow achieved that perfect symbiotic state with its host, and the two are now linked forever. This is the first place I check out when I log onto the site, and I have Knight to blame for that. He has changed my reading habits from halfway around the world.
I don't watch a lot of tv...Top Gear, Archer, The Simpsons, and The Walking Dead are my only regular shows. I play a shit ton of video games and that preoccupies most of my time between work and sleep....playing, writing, and editing included. However, my misguided dedication has paid off: I'm going to E3 this year with press creds and I'm pretty excited about that. Maybe I won't self-destruct between now and June. ;)
Well Jones I take that as high praise indeed. Long may you continue on your attempts to derail a thread that has no rails. TV...As good a topic as any to embrace here. Gotham? Yes enjoying that. Here is one you guys may not have seen, Peaky Blinders. This is one of the best things I have seen in ages. Beautifully shot, great acting and a compelling storyline that builds at a perfect pace. Based on a real criminal gang in the early 19th century with a lot of artistic license the recreation of the time and place is near perfect. Seek it out.
An historical one I am enjoying is Wolf Hall. Another treat for the eyes about the court of Henry the eighth. I normally cringe at the costumes and sets for these things. But this one is spot on, you could freeze almost every frame and it would look like an oil painting of the time.
Destiny...I have solo'd my way to level 24 because none of the 2O2P clan are around when I am on. Deep you are among friends here, post away :)
Hey, far as period pieces go, there's a Showtime series, Penny Dreadful that's kind of fun, all late 1800's stuff combined into a retelling of sorts in Europe, Dorian Grey, Frankenstien, Jack the Ripper, Wolfman, Dracula (maybe, definately a "master" and vampires). All included and mixed about in an interestingly mysterious way. Waiting to NOT see the Invisible Man. It's a bit of fun and the cast is first rate. Not cheaply done.
It's my goal to branch out more. Also it's nice to have a thread to vent in. Because as my wife says, anyone I meet on the internet and never meet in person is really just an imaginary friend...except for Deep because theres no way I could make someone like that up.
TV: Always Sunny, Man Seeking Woman, Archer, Sex and Shooting aka Banshee, Black Sails, Shameless, and of course TWD.
@ Free it's bad. I had a bad feeling it would happen when I saw how overly devoted to Destiny some people were before it even came out. I was right. If you dare to say "I don't like Destiny"...well you've seen the borderline attacks people get. Yet people trashed the hell out of Halo 4 and 343, and no one treated them badly. Certain people take an anti Destiny post as a personal attack. Even if you work for Bungie and were heavily involved in creating the game, you shouldn't get your ass on your shoulders if someone simply says "it's not my thing." The forum is all Destiny threads. Even though there's a forum for "game walkthroughs and help", the general forum is all Destiny. There were always cliques, but we had clan nights with everyone playing together. Now it's just cliques with a group of us floundering alone saying "I miss my clan."
@ Jones have fun at E3!
@ Knight I've seen that Blinders show somewhere on my Roku. I don't remember where. I'll check it out!
I would agree the site has hit an all time low, to be honest I think it has been on the slide for as long as I have been a member. The Forza forum was the only one that had a real life to it and that dominated the thread count. Now since the new consoles hit, the latest version of forza getting less than a stellar reception and the Forza crowd have diversified somewhat, this thread sadly is the most active thing here. Promised changes and site updates have been much talked about but so far short on action. I keep active on this thread because I love this place and would hate to see it go...
Kit Destiny is a huge disappointment, it is just an exercise in grinding as far as I can see. Repetitive, derivative and the lack of any offline story mode is a curse for people with less than stellar internet connections. Maybe it's more fun as a multiplayer, but given there are free to play games that are just the same format go out kill stuff, pick up stuff go back to base, rinse and repeat...Colour me unimpressed.
World of Tanks is coming to XB1. It will have cross platform gameplay too. The 360 party size was 6 so maybe it will be the same. It is a great social game with friends. I'll probably download it if the graphics are ramped up to next-gen level.
@ Knight my youngest brother plays Destiny sometimes because two friends convinced him to get it. He plays multiplayer. He said its boring as hell. You play Barbie dress up, then go out grinding and farming crap...to get more things to dress up with. Middle brother watched him play one day and said "they spend 20 minutes picking outfits for their guys." I'm just not into that kind of game. My brothers and I used to game together, and they're great judges of whether or not I'd enjoy a game. They said "you would break your controller and dick punch whoever convinced you to buy it."
I'm putting all my hope in Halo 5. I don't know if it would save the site, but it might save me from giving up gaming due to boredom.
@ Deep I never tried World of Tanks. Maybe I'll try it.
Is the Destiny forum active?? Our clan forum is all about it. I'd think the Destiny forum here would be jumping.

Destiny forum is slack at the moment. It becomes more active with each content drop.
More people on my friends list play Destiny more than any other game.
The grind is there but if it suits your fancy, it's worth it. I'd estimate I like 80% of the grind but new content has to drop to make it worth the time.
Crucible, which I initially hated, seems pretty good to me right now. I just needed to get used to it. The customization of Halo isn't in there but it plays better online than any experience I've ever had with Halo.
The dress up feature is not that user selectable as you have earn the armour and the selection is limited at the upper end of the power scale. Halo was more dress up than Destiny since it had no effect on game play.

Gotham has been holding my interest. Very unique view of that world of Batman.

Can't disagree with that.
I thought I was speaking for the both of us.

So 5,000 posts and 95% of it is Oldschool...
This is what happens when you start using twitter, posting marathon. Don't look up where's the beef in google images at work...
95%?
meh...I passed 5000 posts a long time ago.
I feel like this entire website has been reduced to this thread...
Today the website, tomorrow the world.
I feel like this site is dead and no one wants to let it be...

I need a hug.
I'll give you a hug..come here big guy
Jones is your man, he's the caring and fluffy one.
Does he drink? Could use a drinking bud right now LOL
Is the Bear a Catholic? Does a Pope shit in the woods?
I think mostly Jones doesn't drink. I could be wrong. Seems like he should, but I'm thinking he don't.
Somewhere on this thread is a conversation about the joys of Tequila between Jones and I.
