my new home for racing

Hello guys,

I have found a new home for racing: iRacing. Instead of investing 400.- and 400.- for xbox1 and wheel, I bought a Logitech driving force wheel for about 130.- and a membership with few tracks for 170.- Well, that's much cheaper and I can play with my business notebook.

There are always races online and always against racers with my level. I worked up to C license in about 6 weeks and struggling to get the B-license, but it is great fun. The graphics isn't as good as Forza, but the sim character of iRacing is top. There is no such variability in cars and tracks, but racing is serious, clean, fair and space giving.

My kind of racing attitude, which I learned during my time with all of you. If you join iRacing, it would be great, if you contact me. It would be fantastic, if someday a "too old for iracing" league will be founded.

Thanks for all races, support and fun! I miss those old times.

JDan

Glad you enjoy Iracing.I have raced with you a couple of time with the madza's. Thats my go to series. Once you get your Iratings up around 1300 ,you start to weed out the rookies. Make for some clean racing.

Looking at trying again soon so I'll look you up when I get back on. Good to see you're still here though :)

EDIT: Im Back on there not bought any extras yet just the basics as still on Rookie group I'm "Shane Randall" on there if anyone wants to add me to their list

Ill be joining Iracing again after a few months off...I should be getting my adapter for my CSR pedal this week. Im still a rookie..only raced a dozen races and half of those didnt turn out very well...I dont remember how the whole "freind request" thing works on Iracing but when I fire it back up Ill come back to this thread and start adding people if I can...

Is this a Thrustmaster to Fanatec adapter? How easy are these to get? Basher was the only source I knew of that made these...is he still around???

Parcells wants to know cause I'll be needing to purchase a wheel soon and I'd still like to hope that Fanatec comes through with some wheels to work on both new consoles but life is too short so a Thrustmaster may be in the future but would also hate to give up my clubsport pedals.

In fact, the PS4 is a total mystery to me with regard to racing wheels....are there ANY wheels compatible to PS4? I'm unaware of any PS4 race games.

Yes its from Basherboard....And no they are not easy to get. I put a deposit down last August with the assumption it would take one month to get. I JUST got my conformation yesterday that it was ready. He is trying to make things faster but I would recomend to put a deposit down. You can always ask for it back if you cant wait for it...

There are a couple of "racing" titles for the PS4 and of course Pcars is due soon. But I think most race fans are looking forward to Pcars and the next GT on that platform. Fanatec wheels will work on the PS4 if the software developers code for them. There are vids on youtube of folk using a CSR on drive club, but so far not Pcars as far as I can see...It would not surprise me if that changed, but then again it would not surprise me if it didn't. Acording to the WMD forum it's never say never so to speak.

It turned out you were correct Knight, most of the Fanatec wheels will work on PS4 with Project CARS:

This was the best news of the year when I heard it :) looking forward seeing a little less of GT6s bad flickering shadows and actually having somethjng pretty to look at. That said, GT6 is an absolute marvel of technological genius! How they managed to get that game looking so good in comparison to other racers is truly remarkable! That said, the flickering and lack of clarity did/does get to me. So using my wheel on the PS4 with a better looking title will really enhance the Immersion factor.

I may not be hairy... or Chinese... But my wheel and pedals sure make me feel like a kid at times :)

I booted up Dirt3 the other day and couldn't drive for laughing :D

It's not a sim, but I've never had so much fun in ages, I was laughing at how fun the game was, but also at how much fun I was actually having ... (Laughing at myself, because I was laughing at how much fun I was having) :) so I can't wait for the PS4 game support as the titles are going to look fantastic and hopefully feel much better through the weel too.

It's great to see fanatec, Sony and the developers really supporting the community. It should be a great year for us. f1 2015, FM6, PCars, Dirt4 all potentially with full wheel support for everyone! Fantastic!

Sent you. FR dankert.

Parcells, the Thrustmaster T500RS and T300RS wheels are both excellent and they work on PS3, PS4 and PC.  Buy yourself one of those wheels and a set of the new Thrustmaster T3PA Pro pedals and you will have a better set up than what you have now.

Parcells has already ordered the Fanatec V2 base with the XOne universal wheel which should be a better wheel than my current Elite not that I feel I need a better wheel mind you.

The wheel probably wont arrive here in NS until late September but that should also be about the time FM6 comes out and if PCCars on XOne is a hit around these neck of the woods another $60.00 for XOne version will be a drop in the bucket considering the $2000.00+ in 2015 ti will cost me for a new base, wheel and 2 new consoles....haven't spent money on gaming in 2 years but this year is gonna hurt, its already hurt when I paid the wheel costs over the weekend. Yowzers!

Get to keep and use, without any hassles, my clubsport pedals this way.
