Rumors
Heard from an xbl friend last evening that a rumored expansion for Destiny will include a third subclass for each Warlock, Hunter and Titan. For example, a Warlock will get an arc subclass, a Hunter will get a void subclass and the Titan will get a solar subclass. One of them will be able to build an arc fence around himself - a defensive subclass. One will be able to project a solar beam to cut down foes - an offensive subclass. And the third....
Last year we were told that all of the PS3/4 exclusive guns, maps and missions will become available to xbox users upon the anniversary date of the game's release.
The third subclass rumor has been out there since release, when folks started notcing there was a third spot there for one.
Bungie claims that it's stuck there from the beta and there it's more work to get ride of then it's worth. That was back when you picked a subclass and you where locked to it.
It would need to be something really badass for me to give up my bladedancer. Golden gun really sucked imo.
I agree golden gun does suck. I feel it's the weakest special.
golden gun would be fine if the super didn't take a ridiculous amount of time to load and if it could do critical hits to headshots. i've found myself playing bladedancer more and more.
I really hope they improve GG.
I'm glad to hear of a third subclass, finally something new to play with.
Arc fence would have to be warlock. Solar beam = titan.
it would be nice if the hunter got some kind of trap, like a void trap so mobs are stuck in the trap for a period of time
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with all the Bladedancers here. Golden Gun is a crapton more useful in campaign, especially against any enemy of consequence. Its a mixed bag in multiplayer, but I feel that Golden Gun is more consistent.
If I am a Hunter, I usually chose Golden Gun. But I can see the virtues of Bladedancer. With the right armor, you can get four kills with GG. A good bladedancer can wipe a team or mob and live. At least that is my experience.
So, you're looking more at the Crucible side of the equation where it makes more sense.
Its not necessarily a "good" Bladedancer that can wipe a team and live. That's completely situational. That same "good" Bladedancer that can do that is the same "good" Warlock or Titan that can wipe a team with their super abilities as well. A more aware player can identify those times where you can get three or more kills with a Bladedancer and pop it then, but that's only if the situation lets it happen. Hell, with Golden gun and Combustion, you can wipe a team out if they're all standing together; the same situation you would need to wipe a team out with Space Magic/Hulksmash. Golden Gun is much more consistent, I think. You're more likely to get your 2-4 kills each time you pop it than with any other super ability.
Hunters using blink can get across the VoG jump puzzle pretty easily - at least it looks really easy. Bladedancers can get through the light maze in CE solo pretty easily using invis. Of the three characters, a Bladedancer can also get across the second bridge solo the easiest, without building it first. Alas, I don't have a Hunter...
Every class can get across the jump puzzle after three platforms. I've never finished the puzzle to completion; I've either taken the left route or jumped after the third platform to the ledge.
Rumours?
If used with the talent that extends blade duration for each kill, I can rack up 8 -10 kills. If used in the correct situation. Then I can pop invisible and sneak away quietly.
