Wow time has flown by. I do remember the Racing vs Halo matches we had in Reach several(?) years ago. I still have videos of the Halo side somewhere. What I remember the most is an evening laughing my ass off.
He he, thinking on it that may be exactly what Parcells was warning you about...Funny I was quite a fan of Halo but never ever went online with it, I enjoy the genera but am not very good at it to be honest. Perspective: We “might” be pleasant to play with but many of us suck really bad at shooter games. Parcells and a friend (who also races) played Halo 3 in Co-op mode on the easiest difficulty level and we each got killed a couple times before reaching the very first check point of the game…that is why KIT should be careful what she wishes for. On the bright side (that’s a stretch) it turns out there is another person that Parcells is better at with FPS’s…my poor best friend is worse than terrible.
@ Knight and Parcells a lot of my favorite people aren't that good at the game. Hell I'm HORRIBLE. But it's fun to game with fun people :D
@ Free I have no life. I got sucked into Joke Twitter, slightly sucked into Poetry Twitter, and into People with Autoimmune Diseases Twitter. I retweet what I like. I have lists of people whose timelines I like to visit regularly. I have a routine lol
Fair point Kat, it is supposed to be fun after all not a job, some people do seem to see it that way. My first venture into an MMO a few years back was a shocker, an entire language, unwritten rules and some really over serious folk made it hard to get into. Once I found a small circle of more fun loving and helpful souls who didn't look down on me because I had no idea what they were talking about half the time it became fun, I even got a handle on the parlance and tactics and became something of a go to tank for raid parties. But without those who just played for fun I would never have spent the time in it I did. Mind you the same can be true of racing, so it's not just MMO's or FPS. It's just people...
For you folks who don't peruse the Forza forums some Saturday morning(ish) - maybe, ultimately depends on what of the planet you live in if you subscribe to the generally accepted definition of time, light hearted entertainment...
Well I have to say I am so glad Church and I went to the trouble of creating a space on the forum for PC racing. at the time we did it any mention of PC racing on the Forza forum could cause some ill feeling, so we set up 2old2race as a place all things PC racing could be discussed without treading on any toes...Attempts were made to start up race series and low turnout has meant it ground to a halt. it has been a struggle to keep the place active a small group has kept posting, shout out to Kurupt who does his best there, but almost without exception we all belong to the same off site group...Now I see the Forza forum with a load of talk about PC racing from some folk that have never posted once in 2old2race. You'd think we inhabited different sites...Ah well. such is life you can lead a horse to water etc. If the status quo stays as it is I think I may just ask Dood shut it down. Not much point in being an admin of a corner of the forum that for some reason people don't want to use...

Bottom line is it's something that this place has always suffered from, people don't come out of their corners. I think it used to be a strength of the site, a safe place where clans gathered and worked away doing their own thing, it has become the weakness. It's hard to find stuff here, too easy to stick to one part of the site and never know what else there is.

True but the point was there were people posting about iRacing, Pcars on PC etc. Not many but enough to make a difference to 2O2R if they posted there...Still I have posted a reminder of our existence in the Forza(ish) forum, so either those few that are interested will drop by and breath a little life in or not. One member has already dropped by so yiu never know :)

And honestly, the racing groups not as prone to the clic issues other games seem to suffer, from what I read around here. (purely anecdotal opinion, not negotiable legal tender, do not try this at home, may cause swelling, if erection lasts more than 4 hours call your buds!))
By the way that new golf game is quite fun on XB1, it's awesome seeing how your friends do on the course so you can try and beat their scores and records.
I'm a firm believer in consolodation of forums. Sub forums may be required for organizing events but general discussion should be in everyones face. Of course, I've said this before.
Imagine dropping in to one forum on 2old2play and seeing Racing, Destiny, COD and World of Tanks all have active communities.
Sure there would be extra chafe but the active stuff is always at the top.
what golf game? I think last one I had on the 360 was EA Woods 14? Which I liked but it's history, what's everyone playing now? Is it multiplyr capable? Or just leaderboard type thing?
Trouble with the consolidation of forums is yes the actice stuff stays at the top but less active does not mean less important to whoever or whatever. Racing in particular has so many sub catagories painting, tuning, various titles, series and so on. Ease of navigation is key and this site is not the easiest to navigate and find things unless you know they are there. Why are certain things hidden in the trending thread section for example..because certain things dominate to the point nothing else gets in so they get fitered out. This thread for example, a fine example of cross clan, cross forum and open to all, but obviously the desition was taken to filter it from the list, Its a fair bet if you consolidate this thread and the Forza forum will dominate once more, I dunno what is planned for V3 or even if that is still ongoing I await with interest.
I posted something new in off topic, freebie Gold game that I found family oriented fun and there's no replies and yet it went right to the top of trending?

I tried Forza, but I had played to much burnout revenge. I couldn't stand not runnning into the other cars.
By the way that new golf game is quite fun on XB1, it's awesome seeing how your friends do on the course so you can try and beat their scores and records.
