That is by design although I can see how it is confusing.
It only shows the posts that are in the Gaming Forum and not the sub forums that it contains. This way it keeps all the forum counts seperated so people can see how many posts are in the General Gamers forum without having to subtract what is in every sub forum as well.

Ahhh, I see. I just noticed it was only happening on the ones with sub forums, now I knows why.
