Once you have asked to join a clan, you have full access to their group, whether you have been approved or not. I was able to see all the posts, vote in a poll and reply to posts without being approved into OMM.
That is working as intended. Not unlike clan pages on the old 2o2p, group pages here are meant to be public. It is a simple home page for the clan which talks about news, polls, events, etc. This is all open to 2o2p (not the internet as a whole) just as it was before. Groups hiding away in their forums is fine, but in order to facilitate a more open 2o2p clans need to put their own stamp on the site. This is what group pages are intended to do.
Now if you can post news yourself let me know. That isn't ok.
It looks like several are missing or private...also wondering if the group pages have to be admin approved because it looks like I can create a lala man love cave, and get it going without your approval...I would hope this isn't the case
I could not only see the posts of a closed group (which Doodi says is correct), but I could POST a reply to a closed group without being a member at the time. (V3 2old2pwn group, reply posted today)
So, besides the publically viewable clan group pages there eventually there will also be separate clan forums that will be private?

The clan pages are a public facing interface for the entire site. They are meant to promote, share news, and reach out to 2o2p as a whole. Forums are private and will remain as they were on 2o2p.
There are currenntly no clan forums for the beta. That will come at a later time. If i put them up now, people would just sit in there and do nothing to help the other parts of the site.
Yeah I understand why you're doing it. I think it confuses my clanmates but I will make sure they know. I will just have to wait to transfer stuff over.
Since it seems that testers posting has slowed (probably mostly due to most of the members not checking it out, and also since all the content is in V2 right now), can we open up the clan pages to test those out and get stuff in order? I'm sure there's some testing you need with how clan pages work.
If there are specifics you still need before doing that, please let us know and we can break it.
It will be my last phase of testing since it's by far the most important. I'm locking down the Comment system ATM on news items. Once that is ported over to blogs I'll be ready to test Clans with forums.

Perfect
So right now, we can edit members, etc. And also post news and polls. But the actual clan boards are not up anywhere yet during the beta, correct?
well the clans didn't carry over - all of those were created new I think. At least the Halotards was, by me.
I don't know that creating clans should have to be approved - but could be moderated later if they are an issue.
