Hey guys, we're testing this out (not telling people its up) to see what kind of load the server can take. D and I are going to monitor the site tonight and see if we still have issues with speed and load times. Currently groups and clan fuctions are turned off while we check things out. You can still post in your clan forum, but ATM it is completely open so if you want to talk about how stupid 2o2p is, how dumb another clan is, or had upset you are at the changes just be aware that anyone logged into 2o2p can read it.
This wont be for long, but we needed to make sure the rest of the site could handle the traffic before we started turning on the heavy stuff. We ask that at this time you DO NOT recreate your clan in the groups area. We have all the clans still in the database that you create before in beta and will bring them up ASAP.
I know you all have a ton of questons so please feel free to ask them here. In fact I encourage you to be blunt. I didn't spend 3 years, tons of cash, and insane amounts of free time on this project for myself. The object is to make 2o2p better and even more flexible as time goes on. So if you're confused, pissed off, or upset then I need to know about it. Hiding in a clan forum and talking about how shitty 2o2p wont make it better. Speak to me.

Doodi - was there not enough traffic (i.e. participation) during the "Open Beta" to get a full picture of the bandwidth demands?
I have to admit, it has been weird not having the site up, didn't realize how often I checked in throughout the day.

Not even close unfortunatly. There were about 15-30 people in open beta VS the 3,000 or so we have browsing the site at any given time. Also, the bandwidth was never the issue since we have more then enough of that to go around.
Servers are complex beasts and this new site has an extremely larger pool of code to deal with. We had to put in a TON of new protocols to stop hitting the hardware bottle neck and honestly I'm not sure we are done. We relaunched late tonight because we knew less people would be on the site. I won't really know how succesful we were until tomorrow (which also happens to be our highest traffic day) so for now we its fingers crossed.
I did however throw more money at the problem and upgraded the CPU (already installed) and tripled the RAM (coming sometime this weekend) so we should be in a much better place by next week. There is just a limit on how much more out of pocket I can go however so I'm praying that this will be enough. I'd really love to get back to the site itself and making it function how it should for everyone. That's what is most important after all.

Thanks for your hard work. Last time I tried to send a tx message my text did not show up. Maybe this time it will. Logging in was easier today. Have been off site though till today.

Looks pretty darn good so far. Was able to post a blog entry with little or no trouble. Hope the site stays up proper!!

i clicked around a bit, commented on a blog that sux, posted the truth in the 2o2s forum, and read some other posts and everything loaded quickly. Didn't have any issue. ima play swtor now.

I have to ask I notice that it dose not work well with IE like the old forum did will that be fix or will I need to use a different browser?
Can we just have the old forum back? Let us continue posting like we've been and this goes back to the beta. Now that we've all seen something is actually going on with V3 it'd be nice to have a working forum instead.
What exactly isn't working for you? I've had most issues delt with fairly quickly once they are presented to me. I'm working on getting things up and running as fast as possible. Just complaining doens't help me much though. It would be much better for me if you went to the report forum and wrote it down.
Also, is it possible for you to be less of a dick when commenting? I get that it isn't your favorite site right now, but I've put in a lot of time and effort to get this far. I know this free site owes you a lot, but maybe cutting me some slack for the next couple weeks is in order?

Every one by and far has been supportive of you and your efforts, and one person posts a "lets go back to the old forum post" you blow your stack?
I know that you are busy with your own life and this transfer of resources... and it is easy to get frustrated with a off handed comment like that. but 2o2p has always been good about "policing" the dumb-dumbs within...
Ignore the innane BS and let the community deal with the ass holes like Taco....

I like the new site but it IS slow. And I was wondering if the old posts in our new group are permanently gone. (The ones posted in V3). Are we going to get the ability to create new posts in our groups soon (or am I just missing something)?
Instead of a reply button maybe you should code in a "fuck off" button..... Site looks good.. I bet its nice to see your hard work finally useable! GJ Fellas
