REACH - Bleedthrough removal from TU
The 03.01.2012 Bulletin announced removal of bleedthrough from TU gametypes.

I do not know if this includes MLG.
Frankie's reply to my topic.

This was a predictable outcome and therefore something that we knew might happen rolling out the TU and the DLC in the first place. But of course we listen, and we have to watch data to see where anecdotes and froth meet in the middle with hard numbers. Then you have to tinker, so reacting correctly to something like the bleedthrough bug isn't something you can really do until you get all that input, data and human response. So I know it feels like molasses sometimes to get objectively good changes in, but there's no safe fast way to come to the correct lasting conclusions sometimes.
wtf. that was the good thing the TU did. bleedthrough made it like H3.
i can't believe they would make any changes to the TU without first fixing the healthpack glitch.
BTB heavies?

Thumbs down to bleedthrough removal!
Welcome back double melee.
I swear tonight I melee'd a guy three times and he didn't have an overshield
I don't understand what was wrong with bleedthrough anyway? 343 was doing a great job with the 85% bloom, bleedthrough, and implementing them into playlists. Now, with the removal of squad (about the ONLY playlist that matched full parties against full parties), btb heavies, removal of bleedthrough, it seems as if they took 2 steps forward but then 10 steps back. Why not just go back to full bloom too? I thought Halo 4 was in good hands but now I'm beginning to have my doubts.
The key to the bleedthrough removal was the health regeneration bug. It was becoming well understood and mightly complained about. Something had to be done.
The short term and maybe permanent solution was remove bleedthrough. 343i knew they had a bug and must have chosen the wait and see approach before making a choice. Apparently user feedback and hard evidence forced their hand according to what Frankie said.
BTB Heavies. You can probably avoid these maps and gametypes. It was another way to get community map variants into playlists. I came pretty close to getting one in there myself.
85% Bloom remains as do the other AA changes.
I don't know what the health generation bug is....
The bars may be full and your shields may be full but you can still die from one DMR headshot or any one of a number of shield penetrating sources. Unexpected death.
Apparently the problem stems from head health not regenerating like the body health. This confirmed by 343i.
Some people don't notice. Some do.
The shield popping effect no longer signals the player like it was intended for REACH. That issue alone was bugging a lot of people.
I see no issue with bleedthrough either. It has vastly increased my enjoyment of the game.
Removal of Squad Slayer is disappointing. Squad DLC probably should have been removed. Now the only playlist , party of five specific, will be Team Objective, or whatever name 343 has for it. Changing the Team Objective party size is odd. The population of that list is never above 500, thus I'm not sure how requiring more players per game helps the playlist.
I still have not experienced the health regeneration bug in MM. Any time in which I thought I was affected by the bug, Theater showed either my shields were lower than I thought, was being team shot, or a combination of the two.
I'm indifferent when it comes to the shield pop indicator. It doesn't affect the way I play.
me being a health pack whore, i see it fairly often. i thought it was just my imagination, but going to theater has confirmed i've died because of it on many occasions.
i like the idea of bleed through, but it doesn't really matter much either way to me. as long as i'm only dieing when i'm supposed to be. i die plenty enough on my own without any help from a glitch.
Is the bug where I shoot someone who still has shields and its a kill. I've noticed this alot and is my only gripe with the TU. So I can understand why they went back to no bleedthru.
You killed me 3 times with the glitch the other clan night when we played the Blackout remake lol. I thought we were playing swat for a while.
If bleedthru breaks the game than it should be removed. I like the bleedthru, but not at the cost of gameplay.
