Consider it reanimated. Has anyone tried the 'second screen " thing they have at AMC.Com? Kinda cool, kinda lame. I gotta say I was surprised by last night's episode. There was a teaser trailer that showed Daryl shooting somebody and saying "Sorry ,brother" I thought for sure it was gonna be Merle.
I think we all know what the relationship between Rick and Shane will be like now that their voice of reason is gone. Things are gonna heat up for sure.
I thought it was one of the best epi's so far this season. It's really heating up, just in time for it to end for the season. I fear it's going to take a decent detour from the comics as they are introducing characters that don't exist or keeping certain characters longer than what was in the comics. This isn't a bad thing as I think the drama aspect the average viewer will like a little more than the comic fans. I do like that they are bringing a little more zombies back into the mix. For awhile there, there was a lack of zombies and more dialog.
Last night was definitely unexpected. I was shocked since Dale had such a larger role in the comics. They really are just using the comics as a starting point but are writing their own story as they go. I've always been a purist when it came to adapting books and whatnot to movie/TV but I have to admit that these are good changes that are keeping it new and entertaining.
I got caught totally off guard last night. I had read up through the first 15 books of the comic and was expecting Dale to stick around for a good long while.
EDIT: (possible comic book spoiler ahead, as you can see the spoiler tag didn't work so I made the text white, just highlight with your mouse to read.)
Did anyone else who read the comics expect for Carl
to be the one to kill the boy. I know it was a different situation with the twins, but when he snuck into the barn I thought he was going to get his first kill.
I thought that as well, especially after noticing that the brief description in my cable guide said something about Carl making a decision that affects all.
Great episode. Can't wait to meet the Govener, I expect him to make an appearance in the final episode of the season.
Not really a spoiler since it's been officially announced but in case anyone wants to know,
the Governor has been cast for season 3. He will be played by English actor David Morrisey.
Also, it was rumored that Jeffrey DeMunn was the actor that asked to be let go after the firing of Frank Darabont by AMC, thus the early exit of Dale in the tv series.
Took me totally off guard.Great episode.I kept waiting for Dale to utter some incredible last words of wisdom. My one question is how did these mindless zombies become ninjas. Seems they sneak up on people alot in this show.Regaurdless it makes for great tv.
I don't want to get a debate on religion rolling here of all places, but, just want to point out how awesome Rick handled his son's comment toward the little girl's mom. Didn't immediately try to challenge the kid's beliefs, just cautioned him to think of the feelings of other people before speaking. I thought that was the best way to handle that.

Agreed.
As for Dale, totally didn't expect that. I really thought that Rick was going to shoot the guy, and that would end the episode. Was totally blindsided by the attack on Dale.
No while Rick seems like a good husband/father, I am now fairly the certain that Lori-s side of teh family is partially retarded, lol. First she runs off and gets in trouble. Then Carl runs off on his own and essentially gets Dale killed. If not for him that zombie woulda still been standing in the mud.
Randall... Shane is going to kill him. I don't see Rick doing it.
I'm now of the belief that everyone becomes a zombie when they die.... and it has nothing to do with scratches.
I also think(don't we all) Shane's time is coming to an end. To go along with my "everyone becomes a zombie" comment, I think that means Shane dies twice. Once as a living human, and once as zombie Shane

They covered that in the comics. Everyone, regardless of how they died, becomes a zombie and reanimates.
As far as Shane, I really hope they treat his storyline like the comics.
I think Shane brings added drama, so they will keep towards the current storyline and not follow the original in that manner. I tend to agree with keeping a similar base for a storyline, but not follow it completely. Just don't jump the shark with it.

They did? I don't remember that, but I've been known to derp a lot.
SPOILER (Scroll over to see)
In the comics, Rick went back and waited for Shane to reanimate so he could kill him. Also, when Tyrese killed his daughter's boyfriend, he waited for him to reanimate so he could torture him some more.

Spoiler?
I didn't think Shane came back tho. I thought that he dug him up put a bullet in his head and then went back. Also, I think Tyrese's daughter's boyfriend got bit and didn't tell anyone. I thought after that incident in the prison, they were popping them in the head just for good measure.
It's been about a year since I've read the stories so I may be a little off. I should go back and look at it again.
I dunno, I dont think they kill him off just yet, especially after taking out Dale. Id say by seasons end possibly or maybe even early next season. WHo knows though, this show is amazingly unpredictable. Probably why we all love it so much.

Well, there are only 2 episodes left..... and I'm quite certain Shane is a goner.
There are a few clues out there that point to that outcome....In-show, he's a dangerous problem that needs to be remedied. Outside the show, he's doing another show on TNT with Frank Darabont called L.A. Noire.
And most importantly, Spoiler..... AMC goofed when they put the Blu-Ray announcement on the web site with "Shane's last episode" <---------- Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled

Spoiler..... There's also a pic of zombie shane floating around the web that people think looks legit. Whether it is or not I don't know
Supposedly there is a former employee from FX uk that is posting episode summaries around the web for season 2 prior to each airing. I've looked at a couple of them after watching the episodes and they seem spot on. How the guy has not been hit by a major lawsuit I have no idea.
Tyrese's daughter and her boyfriend had a suicide pact in the comics. I think that's when they discovered anyone that dies becomes a zombie. For a while I thought that's what the CDC doctor said to Rick, that everyone is infected and it doesn't kick in until you die. Now I have no idea, because I also thought maybe he told Rick Lori's bloodwork said she was pregnant. Any predictions on the doctor's last words?
Yeah, I believe the CDC guy told Rick everyone becomes a zombie. I've flip flopped between that and the preggo thing for awhile... Since the 2 security guards, I went back to the "everyone becomes a zombie"
As for next episode, I think we've seen the last of the farm. I've read rumors of Michonne and the Prison. I haven't read the comics, so I don't know what that means...

Yea, my wife and I both thought the same thing in the shed when he was looking from above. too bad it didn't happen that way, would've been cool.
I thought that as well, especially after noticing that the brief description in my cable guide said something about Carl making a decision that affects all.

I could picture myself throwing rocks at a zombie- kinda like throwing rocks a hornets nest
