Budget Wheel, is it worth it
Hi, I am thinking of getting a racing wheel, but am on a tight budget, about £70, have read many mixed reviews on the cheaper wheels,
Datel Power Racer 270 Wireless Racing Wheel, £59.99
Datel SuperSport Racing Wheel and Pedals, £29.99
Xbox 360 Compatible MicroCon Steering Wheel, £39.99
Ferrari F458 Italia Racing Wheel £79.99
so my question is, are any of these worth getting or should I just stick to the controller, also is force feedback a must when using a wheel, dont think I would be able to stretch to a g27 and definately not a fanatec,
any advice would be gratefully recieved
You'd be better off if you could get your hands on a used ms wheel. The real FFB makes it most worthy. I think Kabar is trying to move one. you may want to contact him.
What Cotter said.
Ok thanks for input, so budget wheel is no longer on cards, MS it is then, have pm'd Kabar and am watching a couple on fleabay, missed one this morning went for £55, just like my driving to sloooooow,,,,,,
I think you'll be very pleased if you plan on spending any good amount of time with the game. It makes for a much more immersive experience.
Ditto, the wheel is the only way to go, if immersion is important to you. The nice thing about the MS wheel is that you can use it for a while, and if you decide to upgrade, you can use the MS wheel as a back up, or sell it and use the funds towards the purchase of a new wheel.
If you decide to upgrade, and need Xbox 360 compatibility, the best deal in sim racing right now is the Fanatec CSR value pack, which gets you the CSR wheel, and CSR pedals, all for $249.95, plus shipping. The CSR works with Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
