BIOWARE moves Dragon Age 2 devs on to another project
Dragon Age 2 development is done, one piece of DLC has been left on the cutting room floor. Maybe now they'll release a GOTY edition so I can buy it and sit it next to my DA1 GOTY that i still haven't played
BioWare's Dragon Age 2 team has officially packed up its tents, put out the fires and left camp, executive producer Mark Darrah announced on the BioWare forums.
"While we will still be keeping an eye out for any issues that might crop up in DAII and supporting the community should any emergencies should [sic] arise, we're moving the entire team's focus to the next phase of Dragon Age's future," Darrah wrote.
The "next phase of Dragon Age's future" could be too vague for some, so creative director Mike Laidlaw clarified in a TL;DR Twitter update: "We're done development on Dragon Age II, and the team has fully moved onto The Next Thing(tm)."
BioWare halted production on Exalted March, an expansion pack for Dragon Age 2, because "other Dragon Age opportunities came up," Darrah tweeted. It's safe to reason that stopping production on DLC probably wouldn't happen for anything less than work on a shiny new title, and with these scraps of evidence and previous unintentional outings, we feel safe to propose that BioWare is now working on Dragon Age 3.
Moving the franchise into the future involves looking at the past, Darrah said. "This past year, we've spent a lot of time both going back to the 'BioWare vault' of games and re-examining them, and looking at some new possibilities that today's industry allows," he wrote. The Dragon Age team may not have to look very far in BioWare's history to find things it should avoid, such as "endings."

The first DA was great but the second was simply good. We have a thread going on this in 2o2rpg. Alot of us were not so pleased with Bioware. Especially given how ME3 turned out.
I think Bioware will 'fix' ME3, i think they are genuinely surprised out the outcry and will make it right. I've always though that Bioware gave DA much more attention and content than ME though. I hope ME3 gets a lot of add on content.
Up until the ending, ME3 was the greatest in the series (I think anyway). So aside from the ending, I have nothing but praise for ME3 and Bioware is currently working on a fixed or better ending.
DA2 is the first game from Bioware I didn't buy ANY DLC for. I imagine I'm not the only one. Funny thing is, I probably would if it ever went on sale.
Amazingly, the DLC had an awesome story tidbit and contained the only map that was not forcibly regurgitated on you.
I guess when I get done with ME3, I'll have to go back and play a game like Origins or something...you know, a game with an actual good ending.
If you ask me ever sense EA has taken over Bioware they keep going futher and further down hill. They ruined the Dragon Age series and ME3 was a joke, you could hardly call it a RPG. I will be waiting for reviews before I spend another dime on a Bioware game!
You might want to wait for FAN reviews. I wouldn't trust critic reviews at all.
I'm still not entirely sold on the "it's EA's fault" thing.
EA also publishes and "owns" Visceral and those guys did fantastic things with Dead Space and Dead Space 2. Generally...if a publisher is shit...they're shit for everyone involved.
I'm not saying EA is blameless in this but I don't necessarily believe that Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3 would have been brilliant if EA had not been involved. Bioware is not the company they once were and have forgotten what made them great.
