2old2play Buying a BF3 Server. Who wants in?
Hi guys, we've been talking about buying our own server for 2o2p and setting up some admins who chip in to cover the cost. What do you guys think? I figure we buy as many slots as possibe and anyone who chips in should get some control over the server. I was thinking we could just roll it in with the SCC stuff to make it easy so I don't have to set up another paypal to do it. Thoughts? Maybe we will have enough for 2 servers.
I know that we (PPC) are going to have one ... I wouldnt be suprised if 2fat already had it up and running
I would be willing to chip in a few bucks for the general one too if it helps to get more people on the site playing Battlefield.

That's the idea. I think a clan one is great, but that wont really help us grow the community and gain any new members. My hope was that people would be more willing to spend their time filling the 2o2p server rather then hide off in their clans.
The idea would be to give admin or VIP to anyone that chipped in on the server and use it to promote 2o2p within BF3. If everyone ends up on a clan server we problem won't have as lively of a BF3 forum or community here.
Oh I agree, we just need to have one (PPC) server that is running hardcore. We have never been snobs about who we play with and Im sure that everyone will be welcome in the PPC server. When it comes to battlefield we try to post in the public forum as much as possible and save the clan forum for lala bashing and such.

Just a reminder to everyone... when you enter the server enter game chat and set your voip to "team chat". No need to hide in parties when the room is Timmy free.

2fat is the admin, it's called 2fat server or something like that. Pm him or join him when you're online, he'll give you all the info you need.

And as for the hardcore vs core debate I would cast my vote for some sort of mix. I prefer HC, but I score alot more points in Core so its kind of a wash for me.
The official 2o2p server will not be the same as the toofat4u357. It will be labled as 2old2play.com. It will also have admins from anyone that donates to it plus the division leaders of this forum. My hope is that the settings are mixed up depending on what admin is on and what people want to play. The toofat4u357 is for his own personal set up.
Edit: The 2oldplay official server is now live. Search for 2old2play.com to find it in the server list. We are currently tweaking the settings.
I would be willing to cover a month on behalf of my clan Relics of Doom. Just let me know how you want the donation.
We are also going to do a clan server for a few days to practice flying etc but are excited about playing with the entire site also.

I'll set something up at donation@2old2play.com via paypal. Id like to just roll it in with SCC card so people can at least disable ads on 2o2p as well for the support. I'll also make sure anyone that donates gets admin rights. I'll have it all up this weekend.

Also, if your gamertag is different from your forum name, please let us know as last night doodi was kicking people to the other side who no one recognized.
People could go to Battlelog and set their clan tag to [2o2p] or a recognized sites clan tag, that should make it easier.
My XBOX GT is different than my username here,..... so "don't kick me bro...!" LOL
I will have a different clan tag, but my GT is Sucktacular1.
I played a game last night on it and won. :) I also added it to my favorites, so I hope to be on more often.
